Mayo Clinic Nurse Residency October 2023

Hey everyone! I am making this thread for people who are interested in applying for the nurse residency program at Mayo in Arizona! I haven't seen anyone make one yet for the so if you're interested in applying, this thread is for you! Hopefully we can keep each other updated on the process ?

Has anyone had their interview yet? good luck everyone ? 

also my, I thought the first interview was going to be a recorded interview (based on previous cycles), and the second one would be with specific units, etc. but that seems to not be the case this time?

I had my interview this morning! It was not bad, about an hour but they asked me 7 questions in total and in the end about unit preferences.

I did mine this morning. They emailed yesterday with the time; today was one of my date choices,

It went really well, I feel like I did about 85-90% - she loved everything and we clicked for the first half hour (about 100%). But the scenario she gave was tricky and she wanted deep specifics. She coaxed me a long a little until she got the right answers. In the end, I feel pretty good overall.

At the end she said final decisions made 2nd-3rd week of August. Past rotations had 2 interviews... seems like the whole process has changed this time.

That's good! I had mine yesterday! What unit did you interview for?

3E was top of my list, followed by Observation and Float Pool. My interviewer had worked in 3E so she loved it for me.

What about you?

I did my interview for 2C - ICU. my interviewers were so monotone with me so I thought I was doing so bad, but I guess we'll just see what happens next ?

Oh man, that's tough when they aren't enthusiastic. Mine was excited for me and about me. If I don't get it, at least I do feel she was impressed and liked me.
