May give up my dream of being a nurse

I may have to give up my dream of being a nurse. I recently got put on the waitlist for my nursing program, and the way things are, I just don't see anyone giving up a spot so that I can fill their seat.

I looked into other colleges and it gets even more challenging. While the pre requisites are similar, each college has an additional pre req that is different from the last school--classes that are required for their program that you can only take at their school or classes that are not even offered at the college I am currently attending. There is no universal pre requisites for a nursing program, all of them are slightly different which means even if I wanted to apply for more than one program it would be hard to do. It would be easy to apply to two or three different schools if all the pre reqs are the same but colleges are making it hard by adding these additonal & unnecessary classes that I have never even heard of so you can get into their program. And not only that but you only have 5 yrs for a lot of schools before your pre reqs expire, which means I need to hurry up so I wont have to retake classes over again

I have been crying all day long, sad, upset, frustrated. Maybe I need to pick another field because this is just becoming too competitive.

you may want to check im not sure if you will be allowed to take the drugs and solutions since you are not in the program. i think you may have to be in already to take it. i dont think its overwhelming since they go together .you are correct that it is not required however i think it will really help you since the math in incorporated into the nursing classes and it is self taught so most people take the class its only 5 weeks and 1 credit hr. the med terms class i dont think you really need it since it is also incorporated in the nursing classes and it also self-taugh but its med terms so it really doesnt need taught however it may help you to already know it before going in the nursing classes. if you are looking for classes while you wait and need the credits i would say take them. well best of luck and keep me posted.

You may want to look into New Mexico. There is NMSU in Las Cruces, Carlsbad, Alamorgordo and ENMU of Roswell, Portales/clovis. There is Amarillo, TX as well. Dont give up being a nurse because you will forever regret it if that is what you really want in life. NMSU-C is one of the best as what I was told.

Hey guys...There is an ORGANIC CHEM teacher at Tri-C metro campus that is really easy. His name is Robert Banks. He is really unorganized and frustrating, but it is almost impossible to get anything lower than an A. Good luck!!
