Goodevening! May I ask if what are the requiremnt for MAN in UST? Do you need hospital experience? And is it necessary that you have a 2.00 Average? Thank you. Godbless!

Ms. Understood: you dont need hospital experience in UST.

afaik, the schools that requires hospital experience are

UP and PLM- at least 1 year PAID hospital experience (not volunteer)

PWU- 2 years hospital experience

Hi, I'm really thinking about this conversion unit with MAN. I'm planning to enroll in UP for my graduate school program. I'm having a dilemma whether to get MAN or MPH. I know they are totally different degrees but since I've heard that they only recognize MSN in the US, I'm leaning more towards MPH. What do you think?

I'd love to get MAN because it focuses a lot more in nursing but if it's not recognized abroad, might as well go with MPH. Thanks for sharing your thought. :)

I know this thread is four years old, but im glad its still active.

Im also interested in pursuing my a masters degree when i have everything settled and figured out. Can anyone help clear things out for me about the different graduate programs for nurses? A list will be greatly appreciated if its not too much :lol2:........ or at least just cite the differences between MAN and MSN?

Thanks everyone

i'm currently taking MAN in UP..out of the blue, just for the sake of doing something, i tried my luck applying under their program same month last year. i called them up and asked what if i still don't have any work experience. i was told that i should still try. because there are times that regardless of the work experience an applicant have, if his/her credentials on her previous undergrad schools didn't passed the screening, they still end up failing the screening process. luckily, here i am, on my way on my 2nd year.

pursuing a master's degree is not because it is worth it. u should ask yourself instead if you are worth taking it and if you really do want to grow in this profession, then go. having a master's degree is not merely having another title. it would be useless if you are not going to use it anyway. good luck guys! :)

Ok, I'm a bit confused...

But

Which is true? Does UST require experience? or is it still possible to enter even without experience? Thank you.

No work experience needed for UST MAN. I have several friends taking their MAN degrees there.

Is it okay to go to graduate school (masters) even without work experience yet? I know it is better if one has work experience. But can a student without work experience still survive/catch-up with the lessons in graduate school?

You can catch up since classroom discussions are theoretical and ideal but it's not really advisable to have a MAN degree with no experience at all. You'll be overqualified if you plan on applying as a "newbie" staff nurse.
