Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS) Spring 2020

Published

Hello,

I am starting this forum to see if anyone finished their application to the MCPHS Spring 2020 cohort yet?

I have a 3.06 cumulative gpa and a 3.21 gpa from the school I finished my bachelors in.

Does anyone know when we will receive admissions decisions?

OMG I didn't know tuition is due December 1st since I still have until 11/15 to put down my deposit for MCPHS! lol now I'm panicking

Yeah it's stressing me out too! I was told that there were only 11 students admitted to the Boston cohort. I wonder if that number refers to the number of people who put down their deposit? Seems a little small to me, but thats not necessarily a bad thing either.

@dgaz13 So you are committing to MCPHS? Also, @hopetobenurse let me know what you think of both campuses! I live in California so I can't easily stop by but looking into Northeastern's, I am hearing people loved the program as well. I too will be finding off campus housing regardless of where I stay as I'm 26 and personally did not find dorm style housing appealing either lol

After visiting the past week I am choosing MCPHS over Northeastern. Although I love the reputation and what they said at Northeastern, there is no campus in Burlington. It is literally a suite in an office building in an office park. The area has a lot of apartments and a large mall and hospital but it’s not what I expected. MCPHS has a really nice campus in the heart of the Longwood Medical Area in the heart of Boston. The T is right there to travel around the city. I know what my ultimate goal is, but I have to LIVE there for the next 16 months and there is nothing in Burlington compared to what Boston has to offer. (IMO)

Congrats! I was just accepted to Northeastern this morning. Since I was accepted to MCPHS Worcester campus (Not Boston), I feel Northeastern is more in line with what I am looking for in a program as far as rotations and the senior preceptorship. I will be living closer to Boston since Burlington isn’t that exciting. Somewhere that I can drive to Burlington but take the T into Boston for rotations. I’m sad we will not be attending the same program but I’m happy we have both finally made decisions!

Greetings everyone and congrats if you got accepted,

Some of us started a Spring 2020 FB group. It was helpful in Fall 2019 ( I'm a repeat because I got a concussion in week 10...ouch!), so please feel free to click the link below and join (or just search MCPHS 2020 Spring Post Bacc):

hey I'm a little late too haha but MCPHS doesn't seem to have a lot of threads. I applied about a week ago and have some questions too. Did you find a new thread? any info on avg accepted GPA's?

I couldn’t find a new thread. I ended up getting in though and am attending this fall. I have no info on avg GPA but hopefully my stats help!

Hii @vee123- how did the program go for you? How were your clinical placements- any issues and did they have a preceptorship/nurse intern chips at all? I am probably going this Spring.
