Hey Pastelcat, I will be graduating December 2020 from the ABSN program in the Boston campus. First off, this school accepts way more students than a typical accelerated program would (120 vs your typical 60) and you will find throughout the program there will be students from their undergraduate sprinkled in also. It gets very chaotic trying to manage that many students and a lot of issues occur with that many different types of personalities. To be very honest, I am very disappointed with the program, its lack of communication and structure were the most problematic for me. Expectations were all over the place, they have made mistakes that have costed students their grades, clinical experiences and money. However, the program has, since the Summer, switched deans (the previous one was probably the biggest contributor to all the problems) and I do see some clearer communication from here on. Since the pandemic started, Boston campus' classes and materials came mainly from the professors from the Worcester campus, we found them definitely way more useful than the ones given by our own professors. MCPHS seems to have a good reputation in Boston, I don't quite understand why, I have not felt that the program has been worth the cost either. If you had choices, I would not recommend MCPHS at all. However, if this is your only option, I'd probably take it because in the end, you will have your nursing degree. My piece of advice though, stay on top of/keep track of your grades, your clinicals and your opportunities. You have to be a strong advocate for yourself and know all the things necessary for you to pass the class, to get to clinical, to graduate. And to all rejected or still waiting, don’t give up. I believed fully that I was not going to be accepted no matter how hard I tried, was so anxious because I couldn’t imagine doing anything else but you just need one chance and one program to believe in you and there is one out there for sure!!

I got accepted via email! However I couldn’t wait on URs decision and had to deposit with another school. Good luck to everyone else!! Also, the school I will be going to in the fall is MCPHS, they have several campuses and I believe are still accepting applicants on a space available basis. The application is free! So definitely try!!

I had my interview beginning of May and was told that they’d send out decisions by end of May-beginning of June and was told that you can call and see if your decision is out already earlier. However obviously that hasn’t happened. I had to accept another school and couldn’t wait on UR, good luck to all!!!

Hi Rebecca! I had my interview with the Interim Admissions Director! She was very easygoing, I, on the other hand, was extremely nervous and pretty much stuttered my whole way through the interview. She asked me to talk about myself other than what was on my resume. Why nursing. Why UofR. What leadership skills can you bring into the program. What was a difficult situation you faced and how did you resolve it. This is a vigorous program, how do you see yourself succeeding. Then she opened the floor to any questions I had in return. My interview lasted around 35 minutes. Good luck to you!!
