  1. Hi @nurseja I know this is super late response, but for Penn's residency you have to apply their "Clinical Nurse 1" positions on any of their floors/hospitals. Then once you're hired you're automatically enrolled into their nurse residency program.
  2. Has anyone on the waitlist heard back? They said we would get a decision on April 15th, but I still haven't received anything and my application is still posted (which they said would be taken down if not accepted). I figured COVID-19 is probably delaying things, but I wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing the same thing.

  4. @keche126 They sent out an email today stating "We are reaching out to confirm that you are still interested in remaining on the waitlist for the accelerated nursing program." So I think they are trying to weed out people who are no longer interested in going to Penn from the waitlist.
  5. Thats awesome, good luck! The ABSN/Phd applicants might be hearing back from UPENN within the next couple of weeks for interviews right?
  6. Hi everyone! I think the previous thread for this cohort got deleted so I'm starting a new one. This thread is for anyone who has applied to UPENN's ABSN program for Summer 2020. What programs within the ABSN did everyone apply to (Second degree BSN, BSN-MSN, BSN-PHD)? I applied to the Second Degree program. Good luck & I'm looking forward to hearing from everyone! ?
  7. Yeah it's stressing me out too! I was told that there were only 11 students admitted to the Boston cohort. I wonder if that number refers to the number of people who put down their deposit? Seems a little small to me, but thats not necessarily a bad thing either.
  8. As of now, yes lol. I've only heard back from one other school, but I was waitlisted and I still haven't heard back from any of the other schools I've applied to (which btw, is driving me crazy considering its already November and MCPHS tuition is due on December 1st!?) So right now I'm moving forward with MCPHS in case I don't hear from any of the other schools in time.
  9. When will you be there? I'm also visiting next week! I get to Boston early Thursday morning and then will be staying through the weekend to check out the area and places to live. I'm hoping to find a roommate though because rental prices are pretty high. I originally planned on doing the MCPHS housing until I learned that they were all dorm-like structured where you share your bedroom with another person and being 27, I feel like I'm a little old for that lol
  10. Thats exactly what I'm going through right now! lol I've been trying to find programs that start later in the year but have rolling admissions or early decision so that I can hopefully get in somewhere else and have more time to see if I've been accepted to my top schools.
  11. This is the first program I've heard back from. I'm still waiting to hear back from the other schools. A few of the schools I applied to had their application deadlines today (Oct 15) for the spring semester start so hopefully I will hear something soon!
  12. Yeah the probation was due to low NCLEX scores. Usually when a school gets put on probation they clean house and change everything. I think thats what they did because their NCLEX scores have been high since then.
  13. If you go to last years thread called "MCPHS Fall 2019 ABSN Program" and go to the last page of comments, two current students gave me their opinions on the program. One liked it and the other did not, both said that it was a lot of work and self studying. I keep playing phone tag with the counselor I was assigned for the Boston Campus. I want to ask her specific questions about the program layout(# of classes per week, clinical placements, etc) so I can see if I will do well there or not.
  14. I got into the Boston program. Kind of got freaked out from some of the reviews of the program so I still haven't 100% decided if I will go and I'm also waiting to hear back from a few other schools. But, if I do end up going here I'll be moving from AZ.
  15. Thank you both for your input! I was recently accepted and wanted to get a better idea of the program to see if its a good fit for me so it really helps hearing from students who are actually there. Thank you again!
