Mass Bay Fall 2010

Published

I have browsed this site on and off looking for info on Nursing Schools. I thought I would open up a thread for people applying to Mass Bay Community College for the fall 2010 Day RN program. What have you heard? What do you know? Does anyone know the selection criteria? I am a Mass Bay Student, wait-listed last year, hoping to get selected in April.

My stats are:

68 Credit Hours at MBCC

2.8 GPA (low gpa is from when I went to school 10 years ago, I have brought it up over 1 whole point)

B or better in all my Co-reqs (A&P 1 & 2, Micro, Etc.)

What about you?

No problem, I just got a call out of the blue...followed by an e-mail confirmation.

Are you done with all your pre reqs? Did you apply for the day or night program?

I also have transfer credits- and that is what makes me nervous.

The transfer credits I have are for A&P 1 and 2 and Chem.

The classes I have taken at MB that contribute to nursing are Bio, Microbio, Medical Terminology and Community Health. I have 45 credits and a 3.65 GPA.

I am nervous that I have not taken enough science courses at MB and they might pass over me for that reason.

How many transfer credits did you have/what courses were they for?

I am a night student. I always heard that it does depend on how many classes you have taken at MBCC. I do have some transfer credits, but I received one of my other degrees (non-medical) at MBCC so that probably helped. My GPA is 3.7 something...Yes, all my pre-reqs are completed. I just found out I need an additional class - 100 level math class to graduate (not to get into program). This is in very small print at the bottom of the nursing class page.
