Maryville 2014 WEC

I have applied to the weekend and evening college at Maryville for Fall 2014. I am hoping to meet other prospective candidates so we can talk, get to know each other and support each other through this journey.

I'm going to try to take the skills lab. I can't take health promotions (long story) this summer. I have one more class to take this summer so I hope they still let me take the skills lab!!

Hi! Sorry to take so long to reply. Anything is doable, but you will have to be very organized and know that in order to be successful you will need to put in some serious study hours. Start lining up your babysitters and let your friends know that you won't surface for a long time. I am currently in my 2nd semester and I am taking Pathophysiology on Monday night and Pharmacology on Wednesday nights. I also have my Pharm skills class (just completed) first half of the semester on Thursday nights with my Adult Skills Lab picking up on Thursdays for 2nd half of the semester. I do not have a clinical this semester, but I am up at campus 4+ nights/week depending on whether I have a demonstration due during that week.

Also, my advice is to take the Skills Lab in the Summer if it's offered. I did not and it was truly overwhelming practicing for and then having sometimes multiple demonstrations to complete along with papers, tests, etc in my other classes.

Also, I was wait listed for 2012 and 2013 and was offered a spot both years. Make sure you go to all of the orientations, etc because a lot of people drop out, change their minds, etc

Congrats to everyone who has been accepted into the 2014 WEC Nursing cohort!!!! I wish I would have found this forum earlier. The past month and a half has been the LONGEST months of my life... running to the mailbox everyday. Actually I became discouraged after contacting my adviser and no immediate response and then...

I checked my email Sunday and seen where my adviser did respond to my email. "...Thanks for your patience...BLAH BLAH...CONGRATULATIONS!!! I really didn't notice that it stated I was accepted until I read it a second time. Total shock!!!! That kind of news on a Sunday. How awesome:yes:

Anyway I can't wait to connect with the rest of you. Looking for FB group now!!!

Yes ladies, that is what it's called... I set it up as a "closed group" let me do some research and see if I can't figure out how to find it :) If not you can message me your e-mails (or just names) and I can invite you to the group.
