Marymount University 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi,

I'm applying to Marymount university's traditional BSN program for next spring (application is due this summer). I have around a 3.0 GPA and am taking the TEAS soon but I have great recommendations and volunteer work. I'm very nervous my GPA will hurt me and I won't get in. Can anyone tell me their stats and if they got in or not? I'm thinking if I don't get in I'll retake a couple classes and apply for the accelerated program so I can hopefully graduate around the same time. So any advice you guys can give me on admissions at Marymount would be amazing! Thank you!!

Hey everyone!

I submitted my application yesterday but Im not sure if I am a strong enough candidate! I am not local! I am moving to the area soon (we are military). I hope this doesn't negatively impact my application as I didn't mention anything about a move.

Is a counselor supposed to reach out to us in the meantime?

I'm taking the TEAS tomorrow and I'm terrified because I got a 78% on the practice exam :(

Just finished the TEAS and got an 81.4%. Is that good?

I ended up deferring my acceptance to Fall 2018! I'm getting married May 7 on Maui, so admissions recommended I defer to avoid missing finals. Any of the current students have insight on financial aid options?

If anyone is moving to NOVA, I would say the most affordable places are in Alexandria, Franconia, Springfield, Shirlington, Falls Church. Marymount is easily accessible to all of those and the rent prices are much lower than Arlington.

Yes! I'd say thats a great score.

My teas scores were received so all my application materials are submitted! How long do you guys think it'll take to find out if I got in? I'M SO ANXIOUS!

@maria1315 They start accepting applications in May. You (we) should be hearing back by May! Best of luck to you!

Hello, I am applying for the fall 2018 nursing program as a transfer student. I feel fairly confident about the TEAS but my GPA isn't the greatest, barely a 3.0, do you think they focus on GPA mainly or will they overlook it due to a good TEAS and recommendation? Also should I have more than one recommendation? I only did one because it didn't specify on the application. Thanks

Hi!

I sent in 2 recommendations. I think it's always good to offer 2 point of views, so if you have 2 strong recommendations, then definitely do it. If you're unsure if one person will give a positive recommendation, then don't risk it. Does that make sense?

As far as GPA/TEAS, I'm not sure I can give too much insight there. I had a 3.7 GPA and didn't need to take the TEAS. But maybe someone else has better info?

I have been emailing with someone in admissions and they actually said by the end of this week!

Maria 1315, have you applied for Accelerated program? if so i think TEAS is not the requirement, it is waived for above a specific GPA.
