Marquette Direct Entry MSN 2012

Published

Hi! Any Marquette hopefuls this app. cycle? I'm a little ahead of the game here but am too excited not to be =0) I'm applying to the CNM track!

I have it on my list, too, and also didn't need to take it. I'm sure they just haven't gotten that far yet!

Not to freak anyone out or anything...but I didn't report GRE scores because of my undergrad GPA and today, when they updated my last transcript they also took the GRE off the "to do" list as well. I'm sure MissHolland is correct however in thinking that the grad school just hasn't yet updated that portion of EVERYONE's accounts.

I wanted to edit my last post to spell miracles correctly, but I don't see how to edit my posts. Oh well...

My GRE requirement is still showing but I have faith that it's alllll good! Right?! =0) This wait is excruciating!

Hey, I just wanted to say that today I came home from the hospital with an awesome baby boy! I gave birth Monday Jan 9th...

My heart jumped when I saw this thinking that you came home and saw an admission letter, LOL! This, however, is WAY more exciting! Congratulations to you! I have a 2.5 year old son and it feels like just yesterday I got to bring him home! What a wonderful time for you!

Hey all!! How's the waiting going? I'm dying to know the decision. I am such a planner and just want to figure out what my year, and future years, hold!

Anyways, I finally sent an e-mail to ask if I should be concerned about the GRE requirement still being on my to-do list and I also tossed in a question about when we may hear back. She said it's fine that the requirement is there, they know I don't need it, and that they had 206 applicants, most of which were last minute. This is the most they have EVER had and the review process is likely to taking longer.

She accidentally wrote 2006 on her first e-mail and I was like, "WHAT?! I thought the applicant pool varied between 80-150???!" LOL. She wrote back and said she had to laugh because that was a typo. Phew.

Anyhow this is still the most they have ever had which makes me even more nervous, of course.

what did everyone's stats look like? like the GRE/gpa ..I will be applying next year so I just wanted to get an idea for it.

I have right under a 3.5 undergrad GPA in public health with a 4.0 for my last 120 credit hours ( approx. 2.5 years). I did have a rough freshman year. Somewhere around a 3.5 ish for my prereqs (which stinks). I have my CNA, have worked in LTC and grew up volunteering my summers in a nursing home. (I also have tons of other volunteer experience not necessarily healthcare related). I have also worked with APN's and shadowed them for three months. I've been a receptionist in a few different medical settings. Great recs and nearly fluent in Spanish. I sound like a good applicant as I type this but the pool is competitive and I don't think that many people really have tons of confidence in where they stand.

Don't mind any of this until you see whether I have been admitted or not, LOL! It seems that they really admit on their own terms and that accepted individuals vary widely.

I had a undergrad gpa of 3.7 in music and a 4.0 in the prereqs I took after my undergrad. I got a 1200 on the GRE and have a CNA license.

From my obsessive investigation of past forums, it seems that people started hearing back from Marquette this week. Just saying.. ;)

I've been checking my e-mail wayyyyy too much! Someone should e-mail and see if they have a better idea of when we might hear. Or not. LOL!

I called the SON yesterday and was told that we would be notified in a series of about 3 cycles. The first cycle would be released mid-end February and given a chance to send in their deposit by a certain date, then the second cycle and the last. Hope this helps!
