Hi! Any Marquette hopefuls this app. cycle? I'm a little ahead of the game here but am too excited not to be =0) I'm applying to the CNM track!
According to their admissions page,
"The Graduate School issues an admission letter to those admitted to the program and a contract indicating all prerequisites that must be completed to begin the strictly M.S.N. courses. During the spring semester of the pre-M.S.N. phase, students select a graduate specialty. An interview is required for admission to the M.S.N.-pediatrics primary and acute care, acute care, and nurse-midwifery options. For enrollment in the yearly cohort, the deadline for completed applications (all components submitted to Graduate School) is December 31."
So does this mean that you are interviewed for your specialty during the spring semester of the pre-MSN phase (assuming you want to do one of those specialties)? I had previously been under the impression that I would do an interview sometime within the next few weeks if I was chosen, but re-reading this statement has just left me a little confused.
Hey wpolorocker!
I wish I had an answer for you. I was just going off of what you posted and assume that interviews will occur during your pre-specialty year. There are no interviews before admission.
It could be any day now, ya'll!! I SOOO want to know so I can make plans either way. This is the longest term everrrr and my last of undergrad at that =)
hey guys!!!! i'm back. it's been pretty rough so far with the newborn who is now 4 weeks old...but we're making it.lol
i saw the post about the 500 applicants and almost peed my pants!!! i e-mailed the school and received this response...
"hi,
we have 208 applications for this summer 2012. we will accept somewhere around 70 and start with 48 students. (some decide to go closer to home or can’t afford it, etc.) we never had 500 applications.
the first round of acceptances usually goes out by email by the end of february. it will probably be sooner this year. they have a week or two to turn in a $500 deposit. then another round of acceptances goes out by email.
i wish you the best."

Hey, I just wanted to say, hang in there. I started my classes this semester and the professors are WONDERFUL. I can't say enough good things about my MU experience so far. I'm a regular MSN student, but the classes are taken by DE students also. Definitely worth the admissions stress I had.
