Marquette Direct Entry MSN 2012

Published

Hi! Any Marquette hopefuls this app. cycle? I'm a little ahead of the game here but am too excited not to be =0) I'm applying to the CNM track!

I just re-read this and think my gramatical errors are hilarious given I stated I have a degree in English in the same post :)

--In regards to one of my earlier posts that I thought I was "quoting."

I'm confused because my recs have been turned in and it still says initiated. I logged into CheckMarq and went to "student center," then "to-do list details." Is that where you went to look, too?

So, I called today to check on what the "initiated" thing means, and basically they said that it wasn't a big deal that we sent in the GRE/transcripts/whatever early. The lady I talked to said that they only have 2 people on staff for admissions for the nursing program, so that things tend to get backed up a little and not entered in the computer as fast as they would like. So give it a few days, then call to check on things.

Nice! All my stuff looks good now! Just waiting on recs. And waiting... and waiting...

I just finally got my acceptance (in the BSN to MSN program) and had a very similar experience with the application process- files getting sort of misfiled, and two separate files (married and maiden name). It's all good now.

Yay for your acceptance, suzannek! I hope I get that good news, too!

Congrats on your acceptance!! Is marquette on a rolling application cycle? When did you submit your app?

I submitted my app at the end of August.

Nice! Do you have a BSN already or are you doing direct-entry MSN?

MissHolland- I already have a BSN, but it sounds like the admission process has been very similar! Everything resolved once I did the paperwork that "merged" my maiden and married names.

Hurray!!! I'm just happy I received my Cheqmark information today. I sure do wish it was a letter of acceptance though. It did come in my maiden name so I assume I'll have to work that out since I've been married for 6 years now. I know I had my correct last name on my application. I guess my next step is to have my transcripts mailed to the school.

Every time I receive a letter from a school I applied to, my heart stops for a minute while I open it. Too bad it's never an acceptance letter! haha

And Marquette's came in such an official envelope! One of those that you tear the strips off of.... like paychecks used to come before I had direct deposit lol

I know!!! Now that I've officially applied I keep second guessing everything like my personal statement and letters of recommendation. I had everyone fill out the forms on-line without asking for actual letters to mail in as well. Re-reading the FAQ's on the Marquette website have me freaking out a bit.
