Hi! Any Marquette hopefuls this app. cycle? I'm a little ahead of the game here but am too excited not to be =0) I'm applying to the CNM track!
Hi, I'm also applying for Marquette's DE program. I also had an undergrad GPA of 3.7, so I didn't have to submit my GRE scores. I graduated in December 2010 from SMU with a Music Education degree, and I'm working on prereqs at a community college this semester and next. I finished my application yesterday and will be anxiously waiting! I'm applying for the acute care specialization.
What other universities are other people looking at? I'm also applying to Boston College, MGH, Simmons, Seattle University, U Penn, Yale, U Hawaii, and U of Southern Maine.
Did anyone else here submit your GRE and/or transcripts before submitting it online? I know the FAQ on the website said you had to submit the online app first, but I read that after I had already had my GRE and transcript sent... of course... haha
Anywho, I got a letter in the mail today telling me how to log onto checkmarq, and it says that my transcrips and GRE scores have not been submitted.... anyone else have this problem? I submitted them over a month ago, so I just assumed they would start a file (like other schools!) but I guess they did not. I know I should give it some time, but I really don't want to pay to have to send them again!!
I submitted mine after submitting my app. and it doesn't show that they've been received via an e-mail inquiry on my part (although my school sent them right away). I can't really help you out on having had the experience of sending them prior to the app. but I can relate with you in wishing that I knew where they were, LOL =0) I have faith that they are there somewhere! I will let you know if this changes when I receive my un/pw for Chechmarq, which should be any time now!
Hi,
I'm interested in eventually becoming a Nurse Anesthetist. I now hold a B.A. in Psychology and was wondering what would be the best route (fastest and least expensive) to obataining a degree in Nursing( RN). Should I get my RN and then go into a RN-MSN program after working a year or two in ICU? Or should I go from the B.A. to a BSN then to a MSN program? Is it possible to get an RN license then apply to an MSN program to be a Nurse some work experience after gaining? I think I will need at least a year worth of experience in ICU, Acute Care or the emergency room before applying to the MSN program. I need to plan this out so that I do not waist time or money. I have to do a year worth of science prerequisites before nursing school. I'm currently 29 years old. Please help...Thanks!
2gennurse,
I am taking prereqs at a community college and applying to the direct entry programs because they take about 3 years to finish as opposed to 2 years to finish a bsn (with a bachelors already in something else) plus another 2 years of grad school. I decided this route made the most sense for me, but it may not be the case for you. I think there is probably another thread on this forum that explores your question better than this one, since this thread is specifically for marquette's program.
Blackbird, I made the same mistake you did. I sent in my transcripts before I finished my application. Let me know how it pans out! I haven't received my checkmarq info yet.
Hey, Blackbird. What is the status on your transcripts per CheckMarq? Mine is initiated?!
I just checked and there is nothing left in my "to do" list column, so I am guessing all is in? But I don't exactly know where to check the application status. Where did you see that they are initiated?
I just wanted to say that I'm super excited even though I've been "sitting" on my application for about a year now. I guess I'll turn it in this week. I don't really know what I'm waiting on at this point. I still have A and P 2 to complete. I am taking it next semester...about 2 weeks after giving birth. I pray all will work out well!!!!!!!!!! I just have lab on Monday nights and lecture is online so it should be managable as long as everything goes well with the birth.

Also, I was just looking more at their FAQs and they said you have to submit your app before you can send your transcript or GRE scores, or you risk them being lost. ooops! hope I don't have to resend mine....
