Marquette - Direct Entry Master's??

Published

Has anyone gone through or know of anyone who went through Marquette's direct entry MSN program? Looking to get some information.

Thanks!

cacurlytop--I just finished the CNL program. Message me if you would like any info.

Hi, everyone!

I just applied to Marquette's Direct Entry program for summer 2011, and this week received a letter with information regarding my student account and marquette email...but no information about acceptance! Did anyone else get something like this? I don't want to get my hopes up but it's hard not to dream!

I got that too! I'm not sure what it means though (I hope it's good). I emailed the school and they asked if they give this information to pending applicants and they said yes (so I'm assuming everyone got it).

i also applied to direct entry 2011 summer cohort...I called the school and they said the first pool of applicants should be hearing back in beginning of march...so im guessing there are several pools?

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if any other 2011 applicants are still waiting to hear from Marquette? From my understanding we should be hearing something any day now.

Thanks,

wiaaatris

Hi! I also haven't heard! Isn't the wait just brutal?

From reading this forum, my understanding of their acceptance process is that they accept in waves- so, they will send acceptances to one batch, then wait to get numbers on who plans to actually attend...then, according to those numbers, send out another round of acceptances, and so on. Needless to say, this process takes some time, which could be why we haven't heard yet. I emailed the admissions office and left a phone message this week but with no response- I'll follow up with them tomorrow and let you know ASAP if I find out anything!

I got an acceptance letter today in the mail, and I live in Milwaukee. So I guess the first group of letters have gone out! You should be finding out soon! :)

Hi everyone - I received an acceptance today and I'm in Los Angeles. I'll be declining if that gives any comfort to anyone who is wait-listed. Good luck to all.

I have been accepted to Marquette's Direct Entry, Summer 2011 and will be specializing in nurse-midwifery. Does anybody know how long it takes to complete if studying part-time throughout the whole program?

I'm declining my acceptance, too, so it may open a spot for anyone wait listed for the PNP RN Direct Entry program. Good luck everyone!

Im a DE-c12 student. Im not in the midwifery concentration but from what i hear it will take you about 4 years total. how the program works is you do the first 15months and about 8 months in then you apply for your specialty and go from there.

almost all of the specialty will take this long especially the acute care track because the college will force you to go part time so you get experience before you graduate. let me know if you have any more questions.

I called and they said that the third wave of acceptances is coming at the end of the month via email and rejections via regular mail.

Does anyone know how this whole system with "we don't guarantee your first choice of concentration after you receive your RN license" work? So for instance, if I apply now for Midwife and they accept me, does this mean that after I complete the first year of DEP they can tell me that there is no spaces and i have to go into some other field?
