Hey everyone! I know we're a few weeks out til applications are accepted, but I figured I'd kick this off sooner than later. Who's applying for the CEP program next month?
They pushed the application dates back due to the COVID 19. Are you guys having any trouble talking to an advisor?
Where are you guys going to apply?
GPA?
HESI scores?
Overall points?
I'm applying to EMCC first choice, GCC second choice, and PCC third choice with ASU.
GPA 3.61
HESI Eng 91.33
HESI Math 98
No prior degree
Overall points 82.77
Good Luck. Talking with different admins across the country and across the state college enrollment for all majors is down. https://www.Google.com/amp/s/www.forbes.com/sites/susanadams/2020/04/09/new-survey-pandemic-will-drive-down-college-enrollment/amp/
anecdotally, I don’t nearly the same volume of applicants on here when compared to previous. I think we all have a shot at getting in. ??

Yes ! You are absolutely right. When looking at these groups for past application periods, there were a TON of people posting. This post is significantly less active.

I did the same thing. I took the GPA for all the prerequisite classes instead of just the ones counted towards the nursing GPA at first. My total points ended up being 86.
When you submitted your application, did you receive the email with your timestamp and confirmation it was submitted from your counselor? I received an email confirming she received it and would be submitting it but not the timestamp etc for the CEP application. Does that happen as they are going through them before sending to the university? Any ideas?
This is the email I got a couple days after I submitted the app.
Congratulations! You have successfully submitted your CEP application. Your application has now been reviewed and processed. Please read through the following information regarding the next steps in the CEP application process.
Your application will be reviewed by the university. If you meet their minimum requirements, the university will approve your application. This does not mean you have been accepted into CEP. Applications will be scored using a grading rubric, which will determine placement at the Maricopa Community College.
Applications are graded using a 100-point scale.
GPA – 40 points possible (calculated by the university, not Maricopa)
HESI A2 English Composite score – 35 points possible
HESI A2 math score – 15 points possible
Previous degree – 10 points possible (based on highest degree awarded), Associate = 2.5, Bachelors = 5, Masters = 7.5, Doctorate = 10
Previous healthcare experience, letters of recommendation, etc., will not be used to determine placement and should not be included with your application.
Each application will be scored with the above rubric. The applicants with the highest scores will be the first placed, until all seats are filled.
If you are accepted you will be notified through your Maricopa student email by the college that has accepted you. There is no guarantee that you will be accepted by your first college or cohort choice. Placement is determined by the score received on your application.
Emails regarding acceptance are tentatively scheduled to be sent the week of June 22, 2020, and will be continued to be sent until all seats are filled. This process can take some time as there are several rounds of acceptance emails sent.
Declination emails are tentatively scheduled to be sent to those not accepted starting the week of July 16, 2020. If you have not heard anything by July 23, 2020, you may contact the Nursing District Office at [email protected]. Please note: these dates may change due to unforeseen circumstances.
If you are accepted, Block 1 at the Maricopa Community College will begin in Spring 2021, while most university courses will start online in Fall 2020.
MaricopaNursing advisors will not be able to discuss rubric scores or information regarding placement until after all acceptance and declination emails are sent.
Please continue to check your Maricopa student email regularly. Thank you for your patience through the application process.
Regards,
GCC Nursing Department
Hello! I received the same type of letter that thaleeyah received within 2-3 hours after sending my CEP application to Mesa CC. Today, I received an email from Ottawa University telling me they received my application. It was made clear that this did not imply that I was accepted to Maricopa/Ottawa program and that all "further communication and directions will come from Maricopa Nursing". Is anyone else hearing from their university of choice?

no I haven't. I reached out to ASU last week and asked them what my GPA was and they confirmed they received my app.But I haven't received any acceptance email from them.

Hi all! Good luck this round!! I applied last intake with a 79.5 and didn’t make it. Am signed up to retake dev psych this Summer to boost it from a B to an A, as thats what the advisor suggested to boost my overall points. I was going to wait to reapply after the class next Dec/Jan, but figured what the heck I’ll try again. Applied to GCC, PC, and EMCC with NAU. Good luck!!
