U.S.A. Arizona

Published

Hey everyone! I know we're a few weeks out til applications are accepted, but I figured I'd kick this off sooner than later. Who's applying for the CEP program next month?

They pushed the application dates back due to the COVID 19. Are you guys having any trouble talking to an advisor?

Where are you guys going to apply?

GPA?

HESI scores?

Overall points?

I'm applying to EMCC first choice, GCC second choice, and PCC third choice with ASU.

GPA 3.61

HESI Eng 91.33

HESI Math 98

No prior degree

Overall points 82.77

You will definitely get in to any of your choices! I had friends who got into Phoenix with 80 points! And friends who got into Estrella and Glendale with 81/82 range!

Is anyone else having trouble with submitting there application on the 1st of May? They told me their online form isn’t live and to keep checking the school website. However, I’ve received three different instructions on how submit my application and none of them have answers.

I know my original post o said I was going to apply to EMCC first choice, but I’m going to apply for Glendale as first choice. Only because when I reached out the the advisor at EMCC all they told me was what you’ve been told. That the application process would be online and to be checking until it goes live. So I reached to advisement at GCC and they were really good. They sent a packet to me through email with very thorough instructions that I will send to them via email.

What school are you applying to?

Thanks you for letting me know. Did you recently make that decision today? I would like to apply to EMCC.

Yes I did. I mean honestly I’m still kind of like deciding. I’m 5.5 miles to EMCC and 9 miles to GCC. It’ll take me like 5-10 Minutes less to get to EMCC so I’m kind of indifferent I just want to get in to either LOL

so far I’ve gotten better information from Glendale. I was even able to have a phone advisement session with an advisor.

I haven’t gotten much information from EMCC.

I would email the EMCC advisement again if I were you because they should have a process put in place already. I think it’s a little inappropriate and unfair for the application window to be open already and they still don't have answers. Especially since GCC was able to give me plenty of information.

If you find anything out let me know please and good luck.

Thank you so much you’ve given me a better insight on this whole situation. I’ll definitely let you know. Thanks again for the help. Good luck as well.

Working on applications this weekend. I snuck in and got my HESI done just as Covid was shutting everything down. Need to apply to the ADN program this weekend and then the CEP once profs post grades after finals next week.

I’ve been in email contact with GatewayCC advisor. Looks like just sending everything in with a single PDF.

Thanks girl! I hope so because I was ready to apply in January but I had second thoughts of whether I wanted to be a nurse or not. I worked as a CNA, you know overworked and underpaid LOL So I had second thoughts. An advisor told me the lowest they accepted last app period was 80-80.5 so I would have gotten in for sure ! smh, so I am hoping that the score ranges will be the same this app period and I can get in.

Nice! Have you had luck communicating with the advisors at Gateway?

I only ask because I am still indecisive which school to put as my first choice. Estrella is a little closer to me vs Glendale but I have not had a lot of communication with the Estrella advisors. They give really generic, vague answers vs the Glendale advisors email back asap and answer questions in detail.

I am kind of willing to drive a little further, if it means having more supportive advisors and staff.

Any advice is appreciated LOL

Here is a list of all of the advisors contacts on page 2 of this link. https://cdn.maricopa.edu/documents/pdf/MaricopaNursing/nursing_generic_application.pdf

(MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) has been great. Her email is listed. The standard application is out the window right now with all of the Covid restrictions. It must be tough to coordinate all the programs to give everyone standardized answers.

I still will be working, so the only program that really worked for me is the Gateway evenings, and choosing GCU online over ASU online for BSN.

Specializes in CNA.

I am applying to the Mesa CC/Ottawa CEP. I am so nervous and excited. I have to wait until my extended (due to COVID) BIO 202 class ends, though. I should have around 83 points. 2nd choice is Chandler - Gilbert and 3rd is Scottsdale. Anyone with any feedback on any of those choices? Thank you!
