Hi,
I did not see a forum for us that have applied this round of CEP for Fall 2018, so I figured I would start one.
I applied for GCC weekend and Ottawa with 19 points (I believe).
You're very welcome. With CEP, I don't believe being a transfer student has any effect on getting in. Many of us believe there are other factors that might be considered when placing but, those are unknown to us, of course. I'm super excited though! I can't believe the application period closes on Wednesday!! I could scream :) this is going to be a super nerve wrecking three weeks!!
Hi everyone, I won't be applying until after fall semester but I had a quick question. So basically you all had your class requirements done by last semester (fall 2017) and had to "sit out" a semester in between and then hopefully start in the fall 2018 semester?
For the CEP, if you are starting your Block 1 (at the community college) in the Spring semester, most of the Universities have you start your classes with them in the Fall semester of the previous year.
For example, if you were starting Block 1 in Spring 2019, you would begin your online University classes (with whichever University you chose to attend, such as NAU, ASU, Ottawa etc.) in or around August 2018.
Likewise, if you are starting your Block 1 in the Fall of 2018, then you would begin your University classes in the summer 2018, I believe.
They stagger it like this because the University classes will generally take you 2.5 years to complete (varies for everyone though, depending on your transferable credits). By starting you on the University part of the CEP first, by the time you start Block 1, you will already have completed the first semester with your University.
Additionally, if you stay on track with your online classes, you should graduate from both the community college and the University at the same time, so for the purposes of graduating with a BSN it works very well.
Having said that, most of the Universities will work with you if you need to take some time out from the BSN portion of your degree. The same doesn't apply for the ADN degree - you can't "take a break" from that!

Thanks for letting me know. I am so nervous and just want to hear back already! I feel like I am riding in the middle of the group so its just nerve racking. Do you know how many spots are reserved for transfer students for each school??
