GPA : 3.6

HESI overall score : 89%

English Score : 91.33%

Math Score : 82%

Additional Points: +5 for previous degree (Bachelors)

Total points: 85.26

I have been getting mixed messages. The adviser that I have been working with has made me doubt my score. I have heard that to be considered really competitive you should have scores in the upper 80s-90s.

Is this true? Do different advisers at different schools say different things?

My advisor recommends anything above 82 is competitive. I was also reading another thread of people posting when they recieved their acceptance letters and they ranged between 80 and above!

How does this point system work?

I was at gateway community college on Tuesday morning and the person I spoke with the nursing advisor was extremely rude to me. She told me that with my score I’m not likely to get in and I should look at other healthcare fields. I felt sooo discouraged walking out. So I decided to apply at Mesa Community College that same morning the advisors there were demanding but way more supportive and helpful. MCC is closer to me anyway. I was glad about my choice. MCC advisors didnt disclose any low or high scores since it was still too early to tell. I think everybody has their own beliefs.
but good luck.

WOW I am sorry that happened, it really depends on the average of the pool that people apply. We are competing against everyone's points. Each round is different depending on the average points of the people applying. I honestly think you have a great shot!

there is a page explaining how to do the math with your stats ?

School: MCC (pm, am), SCC, and CGCC with NAU.

GPA : 3.92

HESI overall score : 95%

English Score : 94%

Math Score : 98%

Additional Points: none ?

Total points: 86.8 (if I am calculating my GPA correctly)

Good luck to everyone applying!!

@NES23 great scores!

Good luck! keep us posted

does anyone know if we can just take one part of the hesi, example: I scored very high on my math but for english composite was an 82. I do not want to retake and possibly boost my english but then drop my math

Unfortunately you cannot break up the sections of the HesiA2. You have to retake the bulk: grammar, reading, vocab, and math.

I wonder if we had the same adviser...My experience wasn't the worst, but I definitely left feeling kind of sad and demoralized. They basically made me feel as though I may not get in. I sort of felt as if I was being talked down to. I am wondering if this is just a stressful time of year for the advisers. They probably have to process a ton of applications.

School: MCC, CGCC, SCC but i might change my top choice to SCC since the advisor there range is 75-85. MCC i heard is really competitive but for sure these are my choices. i may change chandler since they only seat about 16 students but will not go with gateway because the advsiors turned me off with thier rudeness. pcc i heard a lot of people dont apply because how inner phx it is so maybe ill change it to there?

GPA : 3.43 ? (i will retake my english class if i dont get in this round to get a higher grade) if i get an A it will be 3.64 but that wont be until next round IF I DONT GET IN THIS ROUND

HESI overall score : 87.50

English Score : 85.33

Math Score : 94.0

i have associates so 2.5points added

Total points: i calculated 81.52 for me but will retake the HESI to get my scores up. at MCC last round the lowest accepted was 81.77

does anyone know if they take hesi scores from 2 test or only for one? for example i want to up my 85 on the english but dont think i will get higher on the math. would they take the 94 and take the higer english score?

Just from what I've read in the past they only take test scores from one test. So you can't pull one score from one test and another score from a different test.

okay thank you! i guess i better study for both but if i get a higher eng score ill likely go with that since that is worth more than the math portion.
