It depends on which CC you applied to. Offer emails usually go out mid month, others will be more like the 3rd or even into the 4th week of the month. If you receive one, you'll have a certain amount of time to respond or decline. After that, they will look at any declines and offer seats to the top of the wait list. Once all the seats are filled, they will send out the decline emails. Occasionally someone will accept a place then drop out at the very last minute, and they will reach out to the next person on the list and will keep going until the seats are all filled.

Oh got it! Thank you!! Makes sense! I think I tripled and quadrupled checked my email in my app! Lol I’m so nervous

Hello all,

I submitted my CEP-ASU application on 1/29/2020 and received an email today, 2/4/2020, from an ASU Academic Success Specialist that I was ineligible to move forward with this cycle. They said ASU require MAT 140, 141, 142 OR higher. I have taken Statistics through UC Santa Cruz-extension (online), which is a higher math class than MAT 140-142. I have attended the nursing session and met with a nursing advisor to go through my classes prior to submitting my application, but never was told I am missing a class.

Has this occurred with anyone's application in the past or present?

Im sorry. Did you call ASU prior to submitting your application? I called ASU to verify gpa and all 8courses were okay before turning in my applications. I would appeal it. Good luck

Unfortunately, this is one of the drawbacks of submitting an application so close to the deadline - it doesn't allow you enough time to make the necessary changes or research your options. It's a shame that the potential issue wasn't caught by the advisor at the CC. I'm really sorry - I'm sure you're feeling pretty deflated!

However - don't give up hope. It's really a minor snaffu in the grand scheme of things. First thing first, I would get on to the CC and explain the situation. It is possible that you may be able to change your choice of university, and it may be possible that they would accept your statistics class. Also, reach out to ASU and see exactly where you stand and what you need to do.

If you still want to go with ASU, and they won't budge on the class, then the only thing left will be to take one of the expected math classes. Unfortunately statistics - as difficult a class as it is - is not considered the same as math (which is mainly algebra), which is probably where the issue came from. I am 99.9% sure the MAT142 can be done online via Rio Salado.

It may mean delaying you application until the next round, which is very frustrating I know, but if you start researching now and get all your classes sorted you'll be in a strong position next round.

I remember only too well! It was the longest wait in history until I took my NCLEX.…...then that became the longest 24 hours EVER! LOL!!

Once the acceptance letter go out is there a time frame for each student to reply to the admission? If so, does anyone know how long we will have to completely document commitment?

I believe I've read it's 2 weeks. Hopefully someone will confirm.

Hi all!

I was accepted for the Spring 2020 cohort at SCC and received my admission letter on 6/24/2019 (first day the timeline said letters would start going out). It was due back signed by 7/3/2019 or I would be removed from the list. Hopefully this helps a bit with an idea for timing. Good luck everyone!

I’m sure you will be fine. Do things to keep yourself busy. Then it will be here before you know it.

Yes you will receive notification of placement via the email you put on your application.

My rubric points were 85/86 and SCC was my first choice. But I have no idea where I sat as far as other applicants, sorry!

Advice-- Set the date on your calendar and set up email notifications on your phone. Be proud you got your application in and try not to overthink your score as it really just depends on the applicant pool per round!

Thank you for describing this process, AC!

Does anyone happen to know how many CEP students the evening GWCC nursing program will accept?

Ok thank you! ? I calculated my GPA using those classes what worries me now is if ASU uses different amount of credits for the classes we took? For example, my Mat 142 was worth 4 credits with maricopa and I saw ASU is only 3 credits. Do you know if that’s how it works or do they just use what we have with maricopa? Who decides on our rubric score?

I got the gpa by calling ASU

I just want to remind everyone to really keep a close eye on their student email accounts (i would even double check my spam account). The advisor at emcc said that about 5 students last round lost their spots in the program because they didn't see their acceptance email. I can only imagine how devastating that would be to work so hard through the pre-reqs to find out you lost your spot because you didnt see the acceptance email.
