I put EMCC down as my first choice which would be great for me, as it is the closest school to my home. I also put down Gateway as my second and third choice? Which I too, at this point will take anything but I am worried about the morning traffic and wished I put down the PM program as my second choice versus third?♀️.
Good luck to everyone that is applying for Fall 2020 cohort!!
Hello all,
I submitted my CEP-ASU application on 1/29/2020 and received an email today, 2/4/2020, from an ASU Academic Success Specialist that I was ineligible to move forward with this cycle. They said ASU require MAT 140, 141, 142 OR higher. I have taken Statistics through UC Santa Cruz-extension (online), which is a higher math class than MAT 140-142. I have attended the nursing session and met with a nursing advisor to go through my classes prior to submitting my application, but never was told I am missing a class.
Has this occurred with anyone's application in the past or present?

Is there any way to appeal this? Have you identified an equivalent course at ASU which the one you completed could be accepted in lieu of? The specialist should be able to see which course, if any, it would be equal too.

That’s weird! Because here is what is stated on the CEP for ASU brochure:
REQUIRED PREREQUISITES
• First Year Composition (ENG 101 & ENG 102 or ENG 107 & ENG 108) *
• Chemistry (CHM 130, CHM 130LL) * [high school chemistry is not accepted for our CEP]
• College Mathematics (MAT 142 or higher) *
• Introduction to Psychology (PSY 101 or PSY 240) *
• Human Anatomy & Physiology I (BIO 201) *
• Human Anatomy & Physiology II (BIO 202) *
• Microbiology (BIO 205) *
• Humanities Elective
*Courses used for GPA calculation
college math or HIGHER. Maybe double check with a ASU advisor and see if your stats class is transferable to ASU as a statistics class? I’ve taken a stats and college algebra so I don’t have personal experience with it.

Oh wow I’m sorry this happened!! My stats class was a PSY240... my math was a MAT142. I wonder if it’s the first three letters that is hopefully throwing them off?

It depends on which CC you applied to. Offer emails usually go out mid month, others will be more like the 3rd or even into the 4th week of the month. If you receive one, you'll have a certain amount of time to respond or decline. After that, they will look at any declines and offer seats to the top of the wait list. Once all the seats are filled, they will send out the decline emails. Occasionally someone will accept a place then drop out at the very last minute, and they will reach out to the next person on the list and will keep going until the seats are all filled.
