maricopa block 1 books

Published

Hi everyone so I got placed in scottsdale for spring 2016, Im wondering any block 2 or 3 or even graduates that can tell me if I should buy every single book they have on the list? its like 10 books and honestly I just feel its too many of them and that ill be waisting money by buying them, its almost $1,000 for all 10, and I don't mind spending the money if I will be using them, my options are to rent them but I will like to buy the ones I will be using more than one semester.

Any feed back will help thank you!!

This is the list:

Fundamentals of nursing volume 1 & 2

Davis drug guide

Taker's cyclopedic medical dictionary

Essentials of psychiatric mental health nursing

Nursing diagnosis handbook: a evidence based guide to planning care

Calculate with confidence

Your badge is just your student ID. So if you don't have that you can get that from registration and then you need to buy a badge holder.

This is not true. Or at least not for all campuses. At SCC the regular student ID (the Artie Card) is green. The nursing students have to have a white "Student Nurse" ID badge or they cannot attend clinical or any labs that require a uniform. Maybe some other schools are different, but in general nursing students need an ID that identifies them as such for various reasons.

As for when you get the ID, it is no sooner then 7 days before the start of the semester. This info will be given at orientation.

Yes, I did make another post that I could only speak for EMCC after someone else said they had a "student nurse" ID. ;)

Oh good! Wanted to be sure that I didn't have to make an extra trip to the school before the holidays. They didn't mention anything about it at our mini orientation meeting earlier this month(PVCC) so I was thinking it would probably be the day-long orientation in January. Thank you

I will be starting block 1 this fall and I came across your post regarding the textbooks. Is it okay for me to buy most of them used or should I get them all new with the codes? Not too sure if there are assignments online through the codes or if just purchasing the textbooks is okay.

I think I commented on one of your other posts, but you need the codes.

Is it just for the fundamentals nursing book?

We needed codes for Funds, Med/Surg, Pharmacology, and Psych
