March 26 start

Published

Anyone else planning on starting the program on March 26? I just got off the phone with admissions and they have my transcripts. After my info as been through "two checkpoints," I'm supposed to receive a welcome packet in late February. I'm excited and nervous at the same time!

So what are you planning to take for part B? I was looking into what was offered for part B, but wasn't sure if they were going to offer us another combined class like this semester.

Nurse 451 is a combination of Nurs 300 and 335. I'm going to try and take Nurs 414 on the second session. Summer I may try to take both Nurs 310 and 325 since they will be combining these two when the semesters start this fall.

I was going to take Cultural diversity, I think it was called. I don't see any combined courses for Part B. I would think they would have let us know, since you need to register for both A&B up front if you have financial aid.

I thought about taking both of those, but figured why waste the time and money doing them seperate when I can take them as 1 class later. Doesn't make sense to me, lol. I'd rather get a different course out of the way. I see no point in taking an extra class that I really don't need to.

That happened to me too. My advisor told me to wait until Monday (tomorrow) and see if it worked, if not, to email [email protected] along with your name, PID, and class you want to take, and they will take care of it for you. The system is not recognizing Nurs 451 as a prerequisite.

Were you able to enroll for B? I just emailed them like you said, because it still won't let me.

ETA: Just wanted to update. I got a response back. They are working on getting the system to recognize 451, so they said try later this week or next week.

I guess I could wait until fall to take the new semester courses, but I only have two non-nursing classes to do, no electives at all, so would rather start on the nursing courses now and get done sooner. I'm planning on going in the summer too, so I can get a lot of nursing courses out of the way before fall.

That makes sense. I will have other classes I can still take I believe. I have to take part of the summer off for maternity leave as well, so that does leave me a 5 week block of no class. I'm waiting on my DAR to see if I need the arts course or not. I have a humanities class that I'm hoping fulfills it, as it covered pretty much the same stuff that an art history course would. Plus I have a few others, like statistics.. blah:uhoh21:

I got my acceptance email and then I got another email telling how to log in and stuff. Is that the "welcome packet"? I received that email yesterday and I can't register for class until after 72 hours.

First, congratulations. Second...can you log into your catmail at Ohio University? There will be another welcome packet email there as well that you can compare it to. Sounds like "yes" it is the welcome packet email. Gives you a lot of instructions on how to do things.

Glad you got it! The welcome pack should have info about registering for classes and stuff. That comes to your Ohio email. I think I got 2 to my regular email, one saying you're accepted, then another about logging into Catmail. Then the official welcome pack, which is an attachment that says Welcome pack on it.

I have tried to register everyday for Session B, and they still have not fixed it. I wish they would get it taken care of. I also emailed the nursing office regarding the books. I will post when I have an answer.
