March 2009 California Test Takers

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hi all! Tomorrow hits the 2 weeks of waiting for my result. I've been checking the CA BRN site and NOTHING. I've been reading through threads and it will take 2-4 weeks to get results. Some can receive results in a few days. As I read through threads, It gives me mixed emotions. I think I've reached the conclusion that I did not pass. I'm praying all the time hoping I did pass but I am not sure if i am going to be answered. Don't get me wrong I have some hope but it's decreasing as the days pass. I am trying to stay positive but it's very diffcult. I am not an international nurse, all my papers are in and I don't have a criminal background. Therefore, I do not know what else can delay my results. I gave up on checking the site and I am just waiting for the snail mail. I will take a break and get back to work to have some income to pay my bills. I may retake the test in May or June. I've taken the exam several times and I've lost count. Lord Help Me!!

I do wish you all the best with your exams. Stay positive and pray. I recommend doings lots of questions and learn to stay calm and know your dosage calc so when you come across it, it will be easy and you will probably not get a dosage calc again. Know what is priority! You may see meds you don't recognize but stay calm. If you are doing well with your questions, you shouldn't be getting recall/comprehension questions as much. I didn't get much delegation during my exam so I can't tell you how that content went. I walked out of the center feeling confident but i wait and wait, the confidence fades.

GOOD LUCK to all....Best wishes. :typing

Hi, i'm a 2/23 PN NCLEX Exam taker from CA. Like you, I am waiting, waiting, waiting. I should have my results by next week. I don't believe in dreams, but one night I dreamt that I had passed. I hope and pray that that is the case. The snail mail is soooo sloooow! I go between feeling like I passed and then feeling like I didn't pass. It can be very discouraging at times. I know I should keep my mind off it, but it's hard, as you know. I need to pass so that I can go on with my plans. If I don't pass, I know i'll have myself a good cry and then break out the books again. I wish CA didn't have this awful wait time!! I'm sure there are a lot of us out there waiting. I'm not even looking for a job yet because I don't want to put my name out there and then have to grin and bear it, because I didn't pass yet. Hang in there. This too shall pass (if not soon enough).

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

Moved to the NCLEX forum

I wouldn't assume anything until you know for definite. At some stage I would ring them and check that your file is complete especially if you haven't heard anything by 4 weeks as it says on their website

well we are in the same boat somedaytobern. I havent heard or seen my name in the ca board. I dont expect to pass also coz Ive tried the pearson trick and it allows me to register all the way to the credit card payment. The sad part is it was proven that this actually works. So if I were you which im doing right now is start studying again so that when we recieved our letters we can retake the exam right away. :)

Wishing everyone the best.

GOODLUCK to you guys!

hope for the BEST!

u r still on the game! =)

Hello Everyone! Well I received my rejection letter via snail mail. :crying2: It took 15 days to be exact. It came in a regular envelope and when I read "WE REGRET..." I knew I didn't pass. I was above and near passing. I had 3 categories that was below passing. I don't know what attempt this is I lost count. This is not my first time. As time passed I was accepting that I didnt pass cause it took so long and the rejection letter just confirmed it. The studying, the prayers, the calm aura, all the above didn't work for me. I do plan to retake the test by june. I just have to go back to work for now so I have money to pay for all the fees again. I don't know what I am feeling right now. Just another failure and a delay with my future. Another disappointment to my parents and family. This is so embarassing. I can't face my friends anymore. Oh well! Life goes on.

Good luck to you all. If you want a study buddy, send me a message.

Would taking the NCLEX exam on a friday delay the results due to sat and sun being non-business days? I am so anxious, nervous and depressed all at the same time. I took the KAPLAN review and felt okay with it, but now after so many days of waiting i feel very hopeless...:o

To Someday2bRN,

oh, im sorry to hear that.

but i can see u have a good attitude.

keep on going...

i know some1 who took the boards and passed the 9th time!

just believe in your self no matter what.

good luck on your future endeavors!

you will be a RN soon!

more power!!!

HOw long have you been waiting rumba? from reading through some threads, the CA BRN closes on fridays twice a month, and you can receive results in 2-4 weeks. The fastest would be in 3 days average or so. There maybe a delay with your paper work as well. Good luck. Best wishes.

hello rumba01!

i believe that mondays-fridays are the boards working days except for sat and sunday!...

waiting is really very hard and i know that kind of feeling.

just wait for the snail mail if you don't see your name on the BON site which will take about 2 weeks (i got mine after 12 days).

GOODLUCK and i hope you passed! =)
