i have 41 patients!!!!!!!!!!!!! all by myself!!!!!!!!!!!!! in a psych ward!!!!!! i think i'll go crazy sometimes.

I work in a Children's Hospital on a floor with children ages newborn to 3 years on average (we get the occasional spill-over from the floors with older children), and I normally have around 8 patients. Occasionally I have as many as 12 if someone calls in sick, or as little as 4-6 on the weekends when we typically have low patients counts.

I work in a step down unit at a hospital, night shift, and am a nursing student. I usually have 13 patients and sometimes 25. On a lucky night, almost never, I may be responsible for 8 patients...this is ideal. Our responsibilities are to take care VS, I & O's, accuchecks, baths, labs, answer call lights and straighten the rooms. Some nights I feel like I'm banging my head against the wall:banghead: and other nights I love :redpinkhe it!

Pm Shift:

Tonight I had 12 residents with one call in. Making us 9 cna's on the floor.

If we were 10 cna's I would of had 10 residents. It's a 99 bed nursing home.

All my patients are total care minus 2-3. As long as I time myself and

figure out how long each resident is going to take and finish, ill be able

to relax in the nurses station and just be answering call lights till the

last round.

I work at a rehab facility that's connected to a hospital. I usually have about 6 or 7 patients...9 at the absolute most. I work second shift & since the patients are in rehab during the day we are expected to bathe them during the second shift.
