ATT and NCLEX timing
Congrats! :) I sent my application in to the Ohio Board of Nursing in late April. My last official day of the semester was May 14th and Pinning was May 18th. I received my ATT today (May 21st) and scheduled the earliest available appointment (June 2nd). I think the key to getting your ATT quickly is sending the application into the Board ahead of time. I'm so glad my instructor told me to do so...I really think it helped me "beat the rush" because apparently it can get pretty backed up.

Antiemetics... Can someone give me the lowdown?
As a nursing student, I don't know much but I do know that Zofran is ridiculously expensive and that is why it's not used more often (from what I've been told).

Help with reconstitution problem
Hello! I think I understand the math portion of the question (I could be wrong), but I'm not exactly sure how to apply my answers. Here's an example: Explain how you would prepare the following from ready-to-use oral nutritional formulas. 1) Prepare 5/8 strength of 8 fl oz of Ensure How much Ensure? (mL) How much water? (mL) For my answers, I got 150 mL and 90 mL. I don't know which is water and which is Ensure. I thought there was always more water than powder--does that go for every reconstitution? Another example... Explain how you would prepare the following from ready-to-use Enteral nutritional formuals. 1)Administer 3/4 strength Sustacal 360 mL over 4 h via gastrostomy tube. How much Suctacal? (mL) How much water? (mL) I'm not even really sure what is being asked here. Thanks so much for your help!

Most of this works for being an aide in a rehab hospital, too. I totally dream about call lights & feeding tubes.

Hospital weekend Dif for CNA
I'm a CNA at a hospital and I am required to work every other weekend and receive no shift dif for it. However, I get 15% shift dif for working evenings, which works out well for me, so I don't complain. Nurses don't get weekend shift dif for the weekends, either. In fact, they have to work every forth weekend.

As a CNA what type of hours and money can I expect
I live in Kentucky and work in a rehab facility that is part of a hospital. My base pay is 9.75/hour, but since I work second shift I get shift dif which makes my pay $11.21 after 4:00 pm. I work 2:30-10:30 so it works out pretty well in my favor. I love working in a hospital setting. From my research, it is so much more manageable than working in a nursing home.

how many patients do you have
I work at a rehab facility that's connected to a hospital. I usually have about 6 or 7 patients...9 at the absolute most. I work second shift & since the patients are in rehab during the day we are expected to bathe them during the second shift.

What do hospitals look for in CNA applicants?
I recently started a job as a CNA at a hospital with no experience. I applied online & waited for about a week to hear back. When I didn't get a call, I decided to call the HR office myself to ask if they had a chance to review my application. They offered me an interview once I called, so I think the trick might be to let them know that you are really interested. good luck!
