I need advice
Hello, everyone ill start with a little Background info on myself. I am 18 years old, with a 1 year old son, I currently have my cna license, and I am job hunting right now. I am also attending my local c.c. Doing my pre-reqs to transfer to first another c.c. To get my lpn, then to a 4 year university to get my bsn. What I need advice on is I am trying to make the most of my time while I am at my local c.c. So I will have plenty of options when im ready 2 transfer. My thinking is that I will hopefully land a cna position, and I will volunteer to work at a local advocate hospital so I will have the best possible resume when I go for my lpn, and my bsn, and begin 2 apply for a rn position. My ? Is will this help me in the get accepted into ns with the experience that I will have on paper. And also has anyone else went this route by volunteering and what was the result Also on a future note wat is ns really like as far as school scheduling do you go to school from like 9-3 or can you pick your own hours, and how are clinicals broken down on the weekends b\c when I go away 2 school, my son will have 2 come with me and I will have little support, any info on how single parents in ns managed will be greatly appreciated also.....thanx in advance....

Can you take pre-reqs while in LPN program
Hello to all, i am a aspiring nursing student. I was wondering in everyones experience is the LPN training program so rigorous that you cannot take extra classes outside of the LPN program and still have time to work. I am taking my first 2 years of pre-reqs at my local community college, so that i can transfer them to a major university. But I would also like to take the LPN course offered, so i could have a better job while i am in nursing school. I am currently awaiting my CNA boards test in september. But I also have a child and he is growing everyday, so i have responsibilities.( I need money) and CNA job wont pay what i feel he and I will need. Im 18 and need solid advice:banghead:

As an LPN you take the NCLEX but do you have to take it again when you get ur ADN of BSN, and since you are an lpn are you considered a "nurse" or are you just another notch up the ladder of being a CNA

Jump from a CNA to Dialysis Technician?
That seems like a very long day, that would require alot of time management but would there be any classes or certifications that you would have to attain in order to become a dialysis tech

Jump from a CNA to Dialysis Technician?
I'm currently in my CNA class, and as I always seem to do I look ahead to try new things I know that in order to become a dialysis technician you need to have your CNA license but what I was curious about was if anyone knew how much time it takes for you to become certified as a dialysis tech, and what does that job typically involve?

As a CNA what type of hours and money can I expect
Im taking the N.A. class this summer, I was curious as to when i get a job as a CNA, what type of hours, and paycheck can I expect to bring home. Also if i worked 3 12 hour shifts would that be considered full time by most standards. I will be a freshman in college, and am interested in becoming a CNA prior to going to nursing school, i figure it would give me tons of experirience:typing

What type of shifts can CNA's work
Do CNA's work shifts similar to nurses where you can pull a 12 hour shift or, is it flexible mainly are 12 hour shifts common amongst CNA's
