Second Shift CNAs (3-11) I have a question
I love PM shift. All the bosses go home.. Get people up for dinner and change the people who eat in bed. I can be done in an hour. Then feed them put them to bed. Do 2 showers or none for that day. Then chart and pass out nourishments/snacks around 7pm and chill and answer call lights. Then start last round at 9:45pm.

Working 3-11 Shift For the First Time :)
I work 2:30pm - 11pm dinner is at 5pm We put them to bed right after were done feeding unless they want to stay up. This is around 6pm - 7pm Last round is around 9:45pm depends on how many of us on the floor. First off ask of any residents stay in bed for dinner. That will save you time from getting them up and then putting them back to bed.. Then just start getting people up. Once you have your people up, check if you have any showers and thats about it. Then put them to bed and wait till your last round..give yourself an hour to 2 hours to make your last rounds before you get ready to go home.

how many patients do you have
Pm Shift: Tonight I had 12 residents with one call in. Making us 9 cna's on the floor. If we were 10 cna's I would of had 10 residents. It's a 99 bed nursing home. All my patients are total care minus 2-3. As long as I time myself and figure out how long each resident is going to take and finish, ill be able to relax in the nurses station and just be answering call lights till the last round.

I need to move..lol When I started working in 06 I was getting 8.35 + .7 cent state raise = sad Now that I work somewhere else I get $9.50 and thats because of the state minimum going up. Its better then nothing.

I been debating if I want to pursue on being on LVN. Not in hurry yet. so yeah I like long walks on the farms ...ha just kidding. Hope to be posting more..
