Mane with MetroState

Published

So the deal with the MANE program is that you're enrolled in both you CC and MetroState (and what ever school it is up north). Anyone who plans on still transferring at the end of the ADN instead of continuing the MetroState part?

So far my experience with them has left a bad taste in my mouth. They're unorganized, horrible customer service, and, to top it off, don't offer PTK scholarships. This is my experience, but wondering if anyone plans on transferring for similar or completely different reasons.

When I read the contract paper that I would transfer to Metro State after my NCLEX exam, I clearly understood that we could not go to any other University to finish up our Bachelors of Science in Nursing. However, after reading many negatives things about Metro in this thread, I am really worried.

I'm looking over my contract at NHCC and it doesn't say that you have to attend Metro State. It does say " plan to attend the MANE North Hennepin Nursing Program- Day Program starting January 2015. I have enclosed my $100 check or money order"

You have to check the box that does talk about how after you turn in your contract, a few weeks later you will get an acceptance letter from MS along with a student ID number. And then it says you have to register and complete new student orientation at your earliest convenience.

Just posted a new topic about Metro State from my nursing adviser if anyone wants to take a look.

Thanks! That was helpful.

So at this point I'm thinking metro seems the most efficient as all RN to BSN programs I've seen require an RN license, etc; which would set the start time back at least one semester whereas Metro's BSN would start immediately in semester 4.

Good point! I hadn't thought of that part.

I was told that we will need to complete the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum while at Metro. I don't see that in anything posted online, but I did ask my advisor about it. The generals are obviously cheaper at the cc, so it might be a good idea to get all those (and stats) out of the way.

I feel like it would be easier and less stressful to stay with the Metro State path. We are all guaranteed entrance into the BSN program so why stress and apply elsewhere? My brother and a few of my friends have all graduated from Metro with Bachelor degrees and they all loved it. Im not too worried about it. The thing Im worried about is trying to keep my student loans as low as possible through the next six semesters of nursing school

Hey did you end up continuing on with Metro?? Curious because I am currently in the ADN portion of the mane program with NCC and am debating on whether I will continue with metro or not.

Specializes in MedSurg, Tele, ER, ICU, Float.

Good question. I am curious as well. How are you getting on at NCC? I'm interested in starting there.
