I was just wondering if any hospitals in the NY area require RNs to work a 4th 12 hour shift every 3-4 weeks to make 40 hrs?

At my NYSNA facility we work 13 shifts a month..... hopefully getting rid of that extra one during our current round of negotiations.

NY Presby has 13 shifts per month. Would love to get rid of the extra shift, but since we are not union, I doubt that will ever happen.
oh wow...i didnt realize that..i thought that ny presbyterian was a hospital represented by union
Columbia Presbyterian in Washington Heights is, but NY Presby-Cornell is not union.

NYP Columbia is union, NYP Cornell is not.
Is it so hard to work the extra shift for pay?
