How many of y'all carry your own policy as school nurses, and why or why not?

I am wondering if I should get a policy on my own or not.

To paraphrase the old American Express TV commercial --- "don't work without it".

There's been multiple, multiple postings here about how your own insurance protects YOU. From readings here about schoool nursing, your field is even more blurry grey than most others and you deal with too many parents who probably have their attorneys on speed-dial. Cheap but invaluable protection. Do it.

i definitely carry malpractice. Even have a rider on my homeowner's insurance as extra protection

I do. The school's insurance company and lawyers' first priority will always be the school. I want someone there to protect me.

Any specific companies recommended for a low-cost policy? Thanks

I have been looking for a low cost option as well. To no avail. Please share the names of companies! thank you

I just signed up with Nurse Service Organization.... NSO. It was fairly cheap with what seemed to be good coverage. Check them out!

NSO is only around $100 annually for me - i know it varies. I don't consider that to be unreasonable for 1 mil/6 mil coverage

I went through NSO as well
