Malcolm X Nursing Spring 2021

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey there! Is anyone here applying for Malcolm X ADN (nursing) program for Spring 2021? I am a bit nervous. My GPA is 3.0 and I am taking the TEAS soon and hopefully scoring >90 overall. How likely is it to get admitted? Has anyone been admitted with lower stats before? Thanks!

Totally do the same. LOL. No, mine still say incomplete (though I haven't checked in the last 2 seconds. LOL)  Yours?

Just checked. Again. LOL still incomplete ?

I'm kinda surprised that there aren't more people in this thread -- not now, just generally.

I don’t think so because it wouldn’t be fair to those who actually applied for the LPN program. As far as I know, also according to old Malcolm x posts, it’s possible to be accepted for both at the same time.

Well, the application process is still open for LPN right now. I guess I could still apply. I'm not sure if I should though. I guess I should send, yet another, email.

I agree. I hope there aren’t too many ppl applying for this coming semester ?

? I think the issue here is that there is only one person, yes, that's right...only one person inputting all the data by hand, one by one.

My background check now says “complete” in my CCC selective applications page!

it still says “incomplete” for medical documents... should I email them about that? I know that ----------------- and --------------------- handle all things CastleBranch.

Also, does anyone know who reviews the things IN castlebranch? Is it CastleBranch or does someone from CCC have to go in and review docs?

It's up to you. Even though they handle Castle Branch, they're not the ones who input the data into the ccc portal. Every time I send an email about updating the portal, I either hear nothing back or I get a message asking for my patience. Like I said, there is only one person inputting data for hundreds of applicants.

Possibly they still need to go through it and hence the reason that all of ours still say incomplete.

I’m holding out hope that people are putting it off due to COVID.  I guess we shall see! I read somewhere (can’t remember if it was here or on one of the old threads) that there were like 700 applicants! Whether or not all 700 actually completed everything is beyond me.

My GPA is 4.0 and I scored “advanced” on my TEAS, so im hoping with everything I have that I get in!

I also read in one of the other threads (it was for fall) that people started getting accepted exactly one week later. I hope that’s the case this time around and that the Thanksgiving holiday doesn’t hold things up too much!

Sounds pretty promising ?

Hey guys, how did you get your CNA certifications?

It is my understanding that CCC is not currently offering their BNA program. I took it back in 2011 but my certification is expired. I need to do another manual skills test and a written test. I emailed a few people at CCC (my instructor from when I got it in 2011 as well as --------------------------) to ask.

Does the certification need to be active in order to apply? It's on my transcript ?

I won't make the Spring 2021 deadline, which is fine (I just had a baby and want to get Micro out of the way!).. but I am hoping to get my act together before the fall deadline. This CNA thing is really throwing me for a loop.

Hello! I went thru the same exact thing. You don’t need to retake the CNA class if you don’t want to. I completed CNA in 2006 in Connecticut and was able to reinstate my license in Illinois. You have to contact SIU-southern Illinois university as they run the state program. From there they will give you the information you need to obtain the paperwork and find a local proctor to reinstate your license. You have to do a manual skills review and retake the written exam. There are several practice tests online and Youtube videos with the skills reviews. I contacted ---------------------- thru Malcolm X and she was able to be my skills observer. All in all I think it cost $125. I’m out of town now but can give you more contact info on Monday 11/16

Ugh I’m in your sane boat with grades and TEAS, I’m just getting really nervous because the nursing director I spoke with said they have only 84 or so spots open this year because the clinicals are only allowing six students in at a time and there are 14 different clinical settings...I guess we will find out in a week ?
