Hey there! Is anyone here applying for Malcolm X ADN (nursing) program for Spring 2021? I am a bit nervous. My GPA is 3.0 and I am taking the TEAS soon and hopefully scoring >90 overall. How likely is it to get admitted? Has anyone been admitted with lower stats before? Thanks!

Hey I am also applying, how is your application process going . Are they updating your requirements from incomplete to complete? My Background check and medical documents still say incomplete and they have been on castle-branch for about 4 weeks? I take my TEAS soon.

Hey! I am still missing my TEAS and medical records but im still waiting for my background check and proof of high school graduation to be marked complete... I’m glad to find someone going through this application action process. I don’t know anyone else applying.

When I spoke with my advisor, who is at harold washington not malcolm x . I was told that the Nursing program is now like a lottery system where if you meet all the requirements you have a chance to get in. It's no longer like where you get the highest grades then you will get in. (Don't know how true it  is, but thats how it was explained to me)

Oooo a lottery system? My advisor did say the exact same thing but left out the lottery part. I’m generally unlucky so that makes me nervous haha

I am also applying. I am so nervous.

Hey guys, how did you get your CNA certifications?

It is my understanding that CCC is not currently offering their BNA program. I took it back in 2011 but my certification is expired. I need to do another manual skills test and a written test. I emailed a few people at CCC (my instructor from when I got it in 2011 as well as --------------------------) to ask.

Does the certification need to be active in order to apply? It's on my transcript ?

I won't make the Spring 2021 deadline, which is fine (I just had a baby and want to get Micro out of the way!).. but I am hoping to get my act together before the fall deadline. This CNA thing is really throwing me for a loop.

Hey! I got my CNA certification a year ago with International Career Institute. It was a hybrid program that lasted about 8 weeks. Highly recommend! Also I am pretty sure the certification has to be valid in order to apply.

How did you guys schedule your TEAS exams?

@JuicyJulie thank you! I found a post on here from 2018 where someone had an expired CNA but it was from CCC and she got accepted. I wonder if I'd get that lucky...

Hm, that would be great if you got lucky! I scheduled my TEAS exam directly on the ATI TEAS website!
