Malcolm X Fall 2016 (CCCSON)

Published

Hey Everyone,

Long time lurker here!

I made a promise to myself. The only way that I will ever make an Allnurses account, is when I apply to nursing school. Well, that time has finally arrived, and I just finished submitting my application to the City Colleges of Chicago School of Nursing. I clicked on that submit button like a boss!

Good luck to everyone who applied.

I am also getting anxious about this. Classes start in less than 3 weeks. Then to submit my immunizations and physical and try to see if I had everything in order, the clinical coordinator is not in the office ALL week.. So what am I supposed to do? The registration thing is such a headache. I just don't understand how NOBODY knows anything about it when we ask. They make SURE we are held accountable for the deadlines for all these different requirements, but for what? We can't even register for our classes.

I was thinking the exact same thing. How can you expect us to be on top of our game getting things together when you can't even get the schedules right or answer any of our questions? Even when I was writing my name on the top of a folder I was given in room 3100 to stick under the door of Amy Green's office and the lady was basically kicking me out of the room. She's like "Here is the folder, please write your name, email, and stick it under her door but you can't do it here". I was like okay lol. It didn't bother me but I just found it funny that she was so adamant to rush me and another student out so quickly.

Exactly. Unorganized from the get go. But I've been warned by friends n family that graduated.

I think there's a thread on allnurses that is titled stay far away from Malcolm x and I've heard other people complain about CCC in general but I've been wanting to go here and wasn't going to stop my journey for a few bad experiences. Plus during the first day of orientation they made it sound so good. All this talk about the 8th floor and state of the art everything, which is great, but if the staff and faculty can't get it together the other resources are useless.

It was all talk. Unfortunately I have to go there because it's cheaper n able to still work where I am at.

I emailed the registrars office multiple times and cc'd admins from the Nursing Dept. It took 3 emails to get a response and the only response I got was the registrar received hundreds of emails to look over. I wanted to be sure my high school transcripts had been received and did not receive and answer. My program code still has not been changed. I was thinking about going to the registrars office tomorrow but the way things sound, I'll just be wasting my time. I don't understand why the program codes still aren't changed and we are suppose to start classes in 19 days!! I'm at a loss as to what to even do at this point.

You definitely should have been coded by now... I think we've all been coded in.

I see they are changing the schedule around. They got rid of the St. Anthony clinical I wanted. Hopefully this means we can register soon. This situation really sucks but I don't want to spend another year trying to get into another program so I am going to try and look for a silver lining in this cloud. 2 years from now we all will be RNs! Has anyone purchased books yet?

How are you seeing that? I can't even see the schedule. I get "The search returns no results that match the criteria specified"

Talk to your advisor about your HS transcripts. I emailed mine and he looked it up in the system for me

:no:This is so disappointing

When you search for Nursing 101 at the bottom it's a square box that has "search open classes only" UNcheck that box and all the nursing 101 classes will pop up
