Malcolm X College City Colleges of Chicago School of Nursing - Spring 2026

Published

Hello everyone! I wanted to start this thread for those of us applying to the Malcolm X College ADN Program for Spring 2026. This can be a place where we share updates on applications and requirements, ask questions, exchange information, and support each other along the way. I'm really looking forward to connecting with you all and going through this journey together. 🌷

Yes, you don't need any requirement again. Just make sure you resubmit another application as soon as the portal is open. And often check Castle Branch for any update. I assure you will get in.

Thanks I will. I just have this requirement in castle branch

 Clinical Requirements Checklist - Renewal

Due Date: 12/15/2025 I will update that and be ready for when the portal is open. Thanks!

Who else in viable candidate limbo?

There is no reason than late submission of requirements. I got directors denial in Fall. Those who got Directors denial now will get priority in the next cohort .Good luck!!

Oh wow. I had all my paper work in at the beginning of October and they didn't process it until almost before application close

My application still says viable candidate. I tried emailing them to get an understanding as to how they are sending out offers or denials and, when doing so I got an automatic response saying they are out of the office and all admission decisions have been posted on the selective application page. I later then tried calling and unfortunately got no response. Does anyone know if it maybe takes a while for offers or denials to get sent out?

From my experience in the last cohort, I didn't even realize that some of my documents were not submitted correctly. I never received viable candidate status. My student portal kept showing processing until I emailed them about a week after other people received their acceptance letters. About five days after that, my status changed to administrative denial.

congratulations future nurses and best of luck to those still waiting for responses !

I'm wondering if the folks who got accepted would mind sharing their cumulative GPAs and TEAS scores so we can get a better feel of how decisions are made?

I've been lurking this forum and the Fall 2025 one for a few months now as I complete my prerequisites and co-requisites for the program. my CCC GPA and science GPA are a 4.0, but my undergrad GPA is weighing me down a bit and I'm hovering around 3.59 cGPA with a TEAS score of 92%. I'd love to hear from those accepted to see how this might stack up, or if I should plan on saving up for a private program instead.

thanks in advance for considering ! I respect if it's something you want to keep private.

I have a 4.0 overall GPA and finished both pre-req and co-req last semester. I was administratively denied for Fall 2025 due to an SSN issue. My first TEAS was 82.7%. I retook it for Spring 2026 and scored 94.7%.

I also spoke with two people from the previous cohort who had TEAS scores of 84 and 86 and still got seats, even without perfect GPA.

All of my paperwork was ready on the first day the cycle opened since I didn't get a seat last cohort. I'm pretty sure I was one of the early applicants with everything submitted, but it doesn't seem like they review applications in the order received. My paperwork wasn't fully processed, and my status didn't update until November 10.

What do you think is the difference between directors and administrative denial ?
hopefully I can make it next cohort! I would say still completing my prereqs and taking TEAS last day was my disadvantage.

From what I understand, an administrative denial might mean my application didn't make it to committee review.

Does anyone know if accepting LPN seat offer before hearing back about RN offer, then removes you from the pool of RN candidates? This was asked during the nursing info session and a direct answer wasnt given.

I received mine for the RN. Congratulations to you all! 🎉🎉
