Malcolm X City Colleges of Chicago School of Nursing - Fall 2026 Applicants
I purchased the package from castle branch, but it only is showing me "background check" under the to do list. There is no where that shows medical documentation forms for me download/no where to submit. Going to call them when they open back up tomorrow but wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

Anyone attend Baker Colleges ABSN? Cant find info anywhere!
Other than its own website, I am struggling to find any student accounts or reviews about Baker College's ABSN program. Has anyone had experience here?

This may be a silly question, but when I click the blue hyperlinks on the application, like "CNA certification" or "proof of high school graduation" the page is blank, there is no where to upload the requested documents. Is this a glitch, or are we supposed to be sending these to an email instead?

Thanks for creating! Best of luck to everyone! Something I am personally nervous about is that even though my prereq GPA is good and my ccc GPA is good, I have a bachelor's from years ago I did poorly in. No matter what I do, even with a 3.8 GPA now...once you factor in my first degree, I still fall below a 3.0 after averaging the two. I am above the minimum requirement but not by much. It really stinks to have poor choices made almost a decade ago hold me back now. I am wondering if anyone else is in the same boat or knows any stories of people who got in with low stats like that? I have heard mixed things. Some post on here say you need a super high GPA to even be considered, and I have seen other post say people get in just by having the minimum GPA. This is the only affordable college in Chicago so if I don't get into malcolm x, I have to move my whole life which would just really stink.

Malcolm X College City Colleges of Chicago School of Nursing - Spring 2026
I am wondering if anyone can provide insight on this- I plan on applying for fall 2026. I have scoured this forum and reddit and couldnt find people in my situation. I am doing well in my prereqs currently but I have a BA from several years ago I did terrible in, less than a 3.0. Even if I 4.0 all my prereqs and coreqs I will hardly average out to a 3.0. Today, at the info session, the advisor said that all classes are weighted equally. It doesnt matter if it was ten years ago and you're doing well now and she basically said the old GPA will hold you back and its the consquences of your actions. Which I understand, but it really stinks to have the mistakes of your 20 year old self hold you back when you're a while different person now. Luckily even my old GPA is above the minimum requirement but not by much. Some post on allnurses have said the school ONLY looks at your prereq GPA/malcom x GPA. She confirmed today this is NOT true. She also confirmed that when they get to the final canidate pools and have to make a choice, GPA is the final consideration. So those of us who f'd around and messed up back in the day are at a huge disadvantage. So I guess my question is this-- has anyone who sat hardly above the minimum GPA requirement gotten in? Someone on facebook I chatted with who attended a few years ago told me that some of her classmates got to write a letter explaining their bad grades, which I had never heard of before. Not sure how true that is.
