Malcolm X College City Colleges of Chicago School of Nursing - Spring 2026

Published

Hello everyone! I wanted to start this thread for those of us applying to the Malcolm X College ADN Program for Spring 2026. This can be a place where we share updates on applications and requirements, ask questions, exchange information, and support each other along the way. I'm really looking forward to connecting with you all and going through this journey together. 🌷

I just got Directors denial! I wish luck to everyone that got accepted, and for those who were not accepted keep fighting for it!

Hey y'all. Been lurking all semester, just made an account to comment.

I just got an email from CCC entitled "Application status update":

"A decision has been made on your application for the Nursing-AAS program. Please log in to your application portal to review the decision."

This is the same exact email that they sent back in November when my status changed to "Viable Candidate"... But when I log into my portal, the status STILL says "Viable Candidate".

My friend (who just graduated from the AAS program) says this means I've been accepted, and that it may take a while for it to show up on the portal... I hope they're right.

Congrats to everyone who's gotten in so far, condolences to those who haven't, and y'all are awesome for sticking this whole process out, as frustating as it's been for so many of us.

I also got the directors denial. I'm hoping there's an email with a reason.

My application still says viable candidate. I tried emailing them to get an understanding as to how they are sending out offers or denials and, when doing so I got an automatic response saying they are out of the office and all admission decisions have been posted on the selective application page. I later then tried calling and unfortunately got no response. Does anyone know if it maybe takes a while for offers or denials to get sent out?

I got denied in Fall, it took more than a week after offers have been sent out before I was officially notified via email. Get ready for next cohort, if you have all requirement, you will be on priority list for Fall 2026

Today was the pinning ceremony for nursing & CNA students that finished this semester, so that may explain why the office wasn't open or no one was available. The acceptances started rolling out just before the first pinning ceremony began, when the nursing admin & faculty were gonna be in the auditorium.

They really should have done this on a better timescale. People who get accepted now have only about 4 weeks until next semester starts, and they need to figure out financial aid, textbooks, scrubs, work & personal schedules, registering for classes (and since you don't know beforehand which sections are available, you also can't register for any co-requisites), among other things. And the school is closed for a week between Christmas & New Year's, so we only have 3 weeks, effectively, to arrange things with them. If you're feeling strung along, you ain't alone.

For people that were accepted and was their second or third attempt, can you please advise me if all documentation submitted for this cohort will work to apply for next one?

There is no reason than late submission of requirements. I got directors denial in Fall. Those who got Directors denial now will get priority in the next cohort .Good luck!!

Yes, you don't need any requirement again. Just make sure you resubmit another application as soon as the portal is open. And often check Castle Branch for any update. I assure you will get in.

Better your TEAS score will make no impact. Due to so many qualified applications received "first come first serve" is always extensively adopted.
