Hey guys! My name’s Aminah and I’m gearing up to apply to Malcolm X’s Fall 2021 nursing program (woo-hoo!). Previous Malcolm X forums have been super helpful with giving me an idea of the program/ preparing me to apply so I wanted to start one for Fall 2021! 

I believe the application cycle begins January 4th. Would love to get in contact with other applicants! Have you taken the TEAS already? Do you still have a prereq to complete? Let’s chat ?.

Just fundamentals. I’m in RN program and taking professor (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME). I recommend her.

Lise Lu and I have (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) (Friday lecture). RMP says she can be unapproachable and kind of mean ? but it seems like you’ve had a good experience Dria?

She can come off unapproachable. However, her exams cover what she lectures. She is clear on what will be on the exam. In 101 you only get graded off 5 exams no other class work is graded & the final is cumulative, but she provides study guides for every exam, during lecture she will repeat things and that’s how you know it’ll be on the exam. She just wants people to learn LOL

Does anyone know where we get the CCCSON patch from? I don’t see it on the scrubs site.

The patch is not sold individually, you must purchase the scrub top and patch from working class.

They gave us a link to purchase the uniforms from Medline and I don’t see the patches on there. They haven’t mentioned working class so they may be doing things differently in the fall. I asked about the patches and the coordinator said we’ll receive an email about it hopefully sooner than later.

I got mine in working class. I bought figs and nowhere would allow to just get the patch. Some other students got their scrub tops through the bookstore.

Did anyone notice that classes change from online to in person?

When I registered for Nur 101, it said classes would be in-person when you looked at class details. That was in mid April.

Anyone been assigned to a clinical site for their clinicals yet? Didn't one of the mails say we would get notifications by mid July?

I got an email a couple days ago stating I’ll be at Jackson Park Hospital. It was from (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME). They’re probably finalizing stuff w/ other sites? What day is your clinical?
