Malcolm X College ADN Program - Fall 2025 Applicants: Let's Connect!

Updated:   Published

What Members Are Saying (AI-Generated Summary)

Members are discussing issues with enrolling in specific nursing courses, particularly N151, due to seats being closed and unavailable for registration. Some members are experiencing frustration with the enrollment process, while others are speculating about additional class options being added in the future. There is also confusion about the registration process and whether permission codes are required for enrollment.

Hi everyone!

I'm applying to the ADN program at Malcolm X College for Fall 2025, and I thought it would be helpful to start a thread to connect with other students who are applying as well. I'm currently working on completing my medical requirements through CastleBranch and preparing to take the ATI TEAS exam soon. I'd love to hear where everyone else is in the process and if you have any tips or advice to share. I've also been wondering what factors really help candidates stand out during the admissions process. For example, does having healthcare experience—like working as a CNA or medical assistant—make a big difference in how applications are evaluated? Or, does being bilingual help strengthen your application and increase your chances of getting in?

If you've already applied or been accepted in the past, it would be great to hear what you think helped your application stand out. For those of you who are still working on your requirements, feel free to share what you've completed so far and how you're preparing for the TEAS exam.

Let's use this thread to support each other and share insights as we work through the application process. I'm excited to hear from everyone and hope we can all navigate this journey together. Good luck to all future nurses applying for Fall 2025!

Has anyone been able to order books?
The link in the welcome letter doesn't seem to work.

I was able to order the scrubs from medline and paid for/scheduled the drug test for July 21st through castle branch.

I have a doctors appointment with my PCP to renew my TB on July 22nd (if needed since it states only some clinical sites require it and we will receive notice before July 21st.)

I set a reminder to renew my castle branch background check in September.

I believe the fall bookstore will open once the Summer semester is over in July.

Has anyone received a welcome packet or letter with further instruction for the LPN course? I have accepted the offer, but no one from the department has reached out or notified me for additional information.

Hi Kayla! I accepted the offer too and received the welcome packet last week. Have you tried reaching out to the nursing department? If you want to DM me I can send you a screenshot of the info I received

Yes, I received mine last week. It wasn't immediately after I accepted the offer though, it took about a week.

Thanks everyone, I have the acceptance letter. it appears that open registration starts 6/4. Has anyone noticed if there are any evening/weekend classes?

You should still be able to view the classes.

I am able view classes, and I have picked out the dates/times that is convenient for me; However, there is 1 course that I need under N152, but it states it closed. Does that mean there are not any seats available? I am unable to register as well, I recieved an email stating self registration is available starting 6/4

Are you looking under the right term? This is what I see when I look it up.

No I haven't. I've noticed as well!! My portal has been updated to the nursing program pathway but I'm still not able to register either. I don't know why some people were able to register early and others aren't. The class I want available seats keep going down.
