Malcolm X College ADN Program - Fall 2025 Applicants: Let's Connect!

Updated:   Published

What Members Are Saying (AI-Generated Summary)

Members are discussing issues with enrolling in specific nursing courses, particularly N151, due to seats being closed and unavailable for registration. Some members are experiencing frustration with the enrollment process, while others are speculating about additional class options being added in the future. There is also confusion about the registration process and whether permission codes are required for enrollment.

Hi everyone!

I'm applying to the ADN program at Malcolm X College for Fall 2025, and I thought it would be helpful to start a thread to connect with other students who are applying as well. I'm currently working on completing my medical requirements through CastleBranch and preparing to take the ATI TEAS exam soon. I'd love to hear where everyone else is in the process and if you have any tips or advice to share. I've also been wondering what factors really help candidates stand out during the admissions process. For example, does having healthcare experience—like working as a CNA or medical assistant—make a big difference in how applications are evaluated? Or, does being bilingual help strengthen your application and increase your chances of getting in?

If you've already applied or been accepted in the past, it would be great to hear what you think helped your application stand out. For those of you who are still working on your requirements, feel free to share what you've completed so far and how you're preparing for the TEAS exam.

Let's use this thread to support each other and share insights as we work through the application process. I'm excited to hear from everyone and hope we can all navigate this journey together. Good luck to all future nurses applying for Fall 2025!

I wrote an email to a committee, and they said all spots for ADN, NP, LPN is all filled at this point. My status on the portal has still showing incomplete, even though I completed all requirements about two weeks before the deadline. Does this mean I'm denied without them even viewing my application?

Hey Daisy! The only option for you is to reapply. I wonder why you are not in Director Denial. That is better than Incomplete

I just asked them for the clarification, and they said my application has never been reviewed because they do not have my SSN saved on file. While I do have a confirmation email from registration office that they did uploaded my SSN. I'm waiting to see what the registration office is going to say. I just can't believe that this happens. I put in so much effort and try so hard for this.

Hey everyone! Anyone who is doing the PN program able to register for classes?  I have been attempting to, but it says I need a permission code. I tried calling advising, but don't pick up the line. I keep checking and notice people have been able to register. Any advice?

Hi, I was able to register for my classes yesterday. I did see a box for a permission code, but I just clicked next without inputting anything, and it still went through.

However, I got an email today saying that self-registration will open on June 4th. So I'm not sure if you're still able but it wouldn't hurt to try.

Hey everyone!

I received a message from Castle Branch regarding the TB test...are you all going to wait until we get the welcome packet w/ more info to do it? Which I'm guessing we will get around June 4th when we can register. In the previous packet it said something about TB and drug testing 30 days before clinical, so I'm not sure what to go by.

I'm going to wait until it's closer in time so everything will be fresh.

I received an email with the acceptance letter and it said the following - "You are also required to pass a 10-panel drug screening and 2 Step tuberculin (TB) skin test (includes QuantiFERON-TB or Chest X-Ray if needed). The drug screening and TB test results must be completed between July 21, 2025, through July 25, 2025."

Ahh just saw the e-mail, thank you! I guess I'll wait a bit and do the TB with the drug test.

Just a heads up, I just received my official acceptance letter and information packet. So look out for the email, it has important dates, plus uniform and supply information.

Thank you for letting me know. I tried that but didn't work for me. I just checked my email and noticed the welcome letter with all the info.

I'm going to reapply in Spring 2026. Does anyone know if I'm applying for ADN, do I have to complete LPN Bridge Additional Crs Req and  LPN license? I see those checklists in the portal. Mine was marked incomplete this year.

That's only if you're applying to the LPN-RN bridge program.
