Malcolm X College ADN Program - Fall 2025 Applicants: Let's Connect!

Updated:   Published

What Members Are Saying (AI-Generated Summary)

Members are discussing issues with enrolling in specific nursing courses, particularly N151, due to seats being closed and unavailable for registration. Some members are experiencing frustration with the enrollment process, while others are speculating about additional class options being added in the future. There is also confusion about the registration process and whether permission codes are required for enrollment.

Hi everyone!

I'm applying to the ADN program at Malcolm X College for Fall 2025, and I thought it would be helpful to start a thread to connect with other students who are applying as well. I'm currently working on completing my medical requirements through CastleBranch and preparing to take the ATI TEAS exam soon. I'd love to hear where everyone else is in the process and if you have any tips or advice to share. I've also been wondering what factors really help candidates stand out during the admissions process. For example, does having healthcare experience—like working as a CNA or medical assistant—make a big difference in how applications are evaluated? Or, does being bilingual help strengthen your application and increase your chances of getting in?

If you've already applied or been accepted in the past, it would be great to hear what you think helped your application stand out. For those of you who are still working on your requirements, feel free to share what you've completed so far and how you're preparing for the TEAS exam.

Let's use this thread to support each other and share insights as we work through the application process. I'm excited to hear from everyone and hope we can all navigate this journey together. Good luck to all future nurses applying for Fall 2025!

Just a thought, did you make sure your academic plan was updated to the nursing program beforehand?

Heyy, so I had the same problem before but you should go to the virtual services (it's in their website) for malcolm if u cant go in person and go to the advising. Im pretty sure it opens at 1 until 4 today. just tell them your having trouble enrolling and they'll enroll the class for u. just make sure the class u want is in your shopping cart already:)

No, I wasn't able to enroll in Nursing 101. Same issue persists. Has anyone been able to resolve this?

May I ask for those who get accepted for ADN this Fall. Did you get TEAS score above or below 85? I'm going to apply again  and wondering how much should I aim for.

I scored a 96 but I applied last semester too and didn't get a seat. I have a 4.0 and 110 credit hours. Last semester, I was taking chem 121 at the time of application and applied around the 1st week of September. This semester I applied at midnight when the application opened and made sure that all my required castle branch documents were in compliance/ uploaded before applying. I think priority is given to the order of applications with weight on the previous semester applications.

Oh wow, I got a little over 83, so I should retake the TEAS I guess. How did you study to get that very high score?

It honestly doesn't matter how high your TEAS or GPA are, as long as you're hitting the requirement. They don't use a point system, so higher scores won't give you an advantage over another student.

They work off of a first come first serve basis. So make sure you apply as soon as the application opens and COMPLETE the application in its entirety ASAP.

Applying early won't get you priority alone, all of the steps need to be completed as well. So make sure your pre-reqs are complete and not pending and all of your Castle Branch items are up to date.

I got an 89 on my TEAS and I applied during Spring. A staff from the nursing program told us that for RN Fall 2025 they will be prioritizing those who didn't get in for Spring and will be using point system to the new applicants because they're currently understaffed and won't be able to take many students as they usually do.

I became a viable applicant on the very last day of the deadline of the requirements so I don't think it's a first come first serve basis. But, still apply and finish all your requirements as early as you can because those who didn't get in for Fall 2025 will be applying for Spring 2026.

Just wondering if anyone would want to be mutuals? Also CONGRATS TO ALL OF US!! Let's see each other during the in-person orientation on August!
