Hi all,
Is there anyone here that had to make up hours for USA? I am an RMN and graduated 2000 having done the 18 months general 18 months psychiatric training. I have no idea what hours I may need to make up have submitted to cgfns for my credential evaluation. I know I have my psychiatic hours and lots of clinical hours in maternity and peads but no theory and next to no theory or clinical hours in surgical or medical.
Where did you all do your make up hours? I am planning making my hours up in the usa on a student visa.

Do you know we wore hats, belts, and dresses that looked like J clothes. Our tights had to be flesh coloured and shoes had to be flat black laceups with rubber soles.I only knew one student in my set who looked good in that rig up.
We always wanted to wear dark brown tights but if we did we were sent home in disgrace to change and return. In the summer if you came to work without tights you were in deep trouble-and no such things as trousers unless you were male.
So did we!!!!! Oh my I'd almost forgotten that lovely J-Cloth. Mind you they never needed ironing!!
When we qualified we had to wear these stupid little hats that made you look like a you were part of a crown roast rack of lamb. I was really pleased when they stopped making us wear those! Also we moved into white uniforms with pale blue trim. Senior nurses had red, enrolled nurses (remember those?)had green & sisters dark blue trims). You really had to watch what underwear you wore with those whites & they needed ironing!!!

Exactly correct, that is all that you are going to find. You need to submit your credentials to CGFNS and get the CES completed. It is an evaluation of what you actually had in your curriculum, and is based on you and what you will need to make up. Not all will have the same requirements. You may find that you will get credit for some classes that you would not have thought of.
Take the time to get an official report, based on you. What worked for someone else may not work for you, until you know exactly what you need.
