Macomb Community College Nursing 2014

U.S.A. Michigan

Let's share our experiences !!! I just wanted to start a page for those who are getting ready for Macomb Nursing program 2014.

I actually applied this year(2013) for the first time. Unfortunately I was't accepted, but I am hoping to be accepted next year! I want to share my experiences, and meet people who are also applying.

I have completed all the prerequisites, and I plan to retake the Hesi test sometime this year.

Welcome!

:)

I got my letter. Do we think that they will send out another letter with rankings after the 24th?

Yay! I got my letter too!!!?

I got my letter to. I am kinda nervous my gpa is 3.8553 and my Hesi 82. I wish I would have done better on the hesi

My GPA was lower than I calculated as well. But a LOT lower. The thing that confuses me is that they gave me a 3.65 GPA and a 92 HESI. I have never, in any semester at MCC, had lower than a 3.8. So I'm really confused. The only thing that I can think that happened is that they used my B+ in honors english from WSU as my composition score...which makes sense, except that when I calculate the GPA using that grade, it is still higher, at a 3.7 something. So I don't understand...I'm calling them tomorrow. I hope this just means that I'll be a later start, unless i can clear it up with them when I call them. Does anyone know what the lowest GPA scores/hesi scores were that got in, in previous years? I thought I remember it being around a 3.5 somehting GPA? :(

I did not check my mail today but i am now mcc had my leasing office adress instead of mine so they just usually send the mail there n they give it to me ... if everyone gpa is lower i know mine will b too n im scared did the letters u received say if u got in or not ?

I received my letter also!! Does anyone know how many people that are eligible are being ranked? My gap was a 3.8710 and my Heisi sucked at a 80.

I think its around 160 right? that they accept..then they probably rank a few more people, like 20-40 in case people don't want to do the program after all or whatever.

yea i think atleast 10-15 alternatives get n each year even more sometimes n from what i hear the numbers are low this yr so most should have a gud chance i doubt if i make it

If anyone doesnt mind wat did the letters say u got today ?

Just what the GPA and hesi scores are that they are using for ranking, and that we have until the 23rd to call them to like, argue it if its wrong basically. Nothing else really

I just thought I would share my experience with all of you. This is my 4th year applying to the nursing program. They accept 160 students and thats broken up into 4 different start dates. One of the years they did only accept 150. They usually take 40 students as alternates and if your an alternate you are required to go to orientation. Out of the 4 years I was an alternate once and was number 176 and did not end up getting in( Only 3 people away from getting in). I applied the last few years with a 81 hesi score and a GPA of 3.625. Every year is different on how many people apply. However I have noticed the numbers dropping each year. I applied this year with same GPA and a 85 on hesi. Good luck to all of you!!! Any other questions just let me know. :-)

I also applied last year, but I didn't get in, my hesi score was 81 and gpa 3.4. But don't be discourage, like someone already said every year is different. Let's hope for the best, and if you are sure that your scores are not right, definitely contact mcc! Hopefully just 10 more days of waiting!
