I'm trying to get into the Macomb Community College Nursing program. I just took the HESI test and scored a 86.5%. I Also have a 4.0 GPA. What are my chances into getting into the program for 2011, since my HESI is still kind of low?
If anyone can relate please comment. Post scores so we can compare! Thanks for your thoughts:)
Talked to an adviser, she said ranking is starting on the 18th. If you want to have an idea of the lowest person accepted you have to wait until the 22nd. They are also waiting for all the departments to tell them the number of people who are in the program already and will be retaking classes for them to know how many people will be accepted. She also said more than 400 people will be ranked this year and they normally accept around 151-155 people.
Hey everyone just thought I'd share something interesting. I was reading the threads from last year and noticed that the ranking letters were sent out with a "we will begin ranking" date of Monday, April 26th. The first person to say that they received their acceptance letter was on Wednesday, April 28th, just TWO DAYS LATER. *If* history repeats itself, we will start getting ours on the 20th! Anyone else come to the same conclusion?
Just thought you might want to know that once letters are sent out, you can go to the registration office and they will tell you if you were accepted and what your ranking was. I did that last year!
I have a friend that is in the program right now and she talked to the dean of nursing and this year the numbers are down from last yr. 400 may have applied but some of those have not me the qualifications. Therefore the number of people being ranked is less than prev years. This is a good sign!!! Shouldn't be too long until we get the letters..
When I called the other day I asked how many people ranked and they told me that 423!!! that is actually up from last year of 383. Unless that is the amount of applicants, we won't know until next week! All of these posts about letters is based on what has happened in the past, we will just have to wait and see.

It doesn't make sense but that is what my friend was told!
I just called and it is correct: so for example if you had a 3.3 in a 4 credit hour class it is 13.2 (points)
Do this with each class and take your total points and divided by the total credit hours gives you the GPA for ranking.
Good Luck to all!
