2011 Macomb Community College HESI and GPA scores for nursing program

Published

I'm trying to get into the Macomb Community College Nursing program. I just took the HESI test and scored a 86.5%. I Also have a 4.0 GPA. What are my chances into getting into the program for 2011, since my HESI is still kind of low?

If anyone can relate please comment. Post scores so we can compare! Thanks for your thoughts:)

Mine came too! Woohoo :) :yeah:

ttt9223 - I agree with rockyla! You would have made it last year for sure with those scores! I think you'll be alright!

I was at work and just happened to check the blog and you all scared the **** out of me!!! I thought the letters were for acceptance!!! I called my husband and made him go get the mail and read the letter to me!!! 10 days left and the letters should start coming!!!! Good Luck to all!!!:)

Thanks for the encouragement. Good Luck To All!!!

What did all of you study, in order to get these high Hesi scores?

I just used the review book mentioned in the application packet. That thing was like GOLD. I studied that thing for a solid week and a half. But I have to admit, I've always been good at math, so that helped a ton.

I'm worried because I hear a lot of people repeated prerequisites to earn higher GPAs I have a 3.7 and messed up on my Hesi 84 not sure what I was thinking. I have to admit that exam is not bad at all

Hey everyone just thought I'd share something interesting. I was reading the threads from last year and noticed that the ranking letters were sent out with a "we will begin ranking" date of Monday, April 26th. The first person to say that they received their acceptance letter was on Wednesday, April 28th, just TWO DAYS LATER. *If* history repeats itself, we will start getting ours on the 20th! Anyone else come to the same conclusion?

Great Find! I think they had everyone ranked and the letters were to let you know whether you had everything you needed to be eligible for the program. (For those who didn't read the fine print) That means possibly 9 more days!! :yeah:

ok, i went thru the old posts from the 2010 students and one ranked #42 with a 3.57 gpa and a 97 hesi. another ranked #151 with 3.6 gpa and 89 hesi. i have a 3.7864 w/ 89 hesi lets hope!

That is an awesome find! Everything is bumped up a week or so than last year with receiving letters, so it's nice that we are able to find out earlier. It'll be nice because Macomb is off that during that time frame from the 19th-24th, so If it is good news then it gives us time to celebrate! :)

how do they calculate the GPA? I feel like mine is low and I am so worried!

They take your grade(s) (from the 3 classes) and multiply it by the # of credit hours to get your "honor points" and add up your honor points and divide that # by the # of credit hours you had from those classes. Just found this out yesterday.
