LVN Schools - Mostly trade schools?

Hi there!

I just relocated to California and realized that because of the differences of states I'll have to redo my anatomy classes. Sadly, I'm in dire need to bump myself up, and have decided to look into LVN programs. However I'm realizing that they are mostly trade schools? I live in Victorville, and I'm just trying to find out what is nearby and if they are good! Google is not my friend.

Plus knowing from people who have been there is a lot more reassuring!

Thanks!

Where is Victorville? Northern, southern or Bay Area of Ca?

Go to the bvnpt.ca website, there is a link there that lists all of the approved programs. There are a few that are at community colleges or at regional occupational centers (the better, more economical choices for LVN school) but I am afraid that being in Victorville, you are not going to have a lot of nearby programs to choose from.

Thank you! Victorville is southern in San Bernardino county. The only school I've found in my area is a trade school. I know those aren't great but I've heard people have good experiences there.

I attended a trade school for my Lvn in northern CA because I could get in, out and ahead, (as the commercials say)

The price was steep, but after I researched the job market for new grads in my area, I learned that I could afford the loan payments and still come out ahead (compared with continuing working as a CNA while completing my RN prereqs)

I graduated Lvn school in 2013 and was able to secure employment within a few months of graduating.

Here is the California List from the registry of all their approved programs. Hope this helps in finding one close to you.

Is your focus LVN right now? If not, Victor Valley Community College has a ADN program (My grandmother wanted me to go there so I would be close to her). I don't know the specifics about the program but I think that will be the closest to you that's not a trade school. Maybe look and see if Apple Vally or Hisperia have community colleges... But you're right, there's not much in Victorville, that's why I escaped and refuse to go back unless to visit family, LOL, but rent is CHEAP out there. Good luck.
