Lvn program lost accreditation

I was in a LVN program and finished my first semester only to learn they lost their accreditation. Does anyone know any Houston school that accept transfers?

I would contact your other local schools to see what they will offer. My credits from my LPN diploma do not technically "transfer" however many of the local schools give you "credit" for holding a license and count that as credit toward furthering your degress. In your case since you have not graduated yet, things may be different.

Did the school inform you that they were closing the program or is this a word of mouth type of situation? It could be that they cannot admit new students to the program, but those already enrolled can complete it. Make sure you fully understand what is going on before jumping from one school to the next.

I found two schools that will accept me as a transfer waiting on like 5 more to call me back lol. Hcc is HORRIBLE. I haven't learned anything my first semester... Regardless transferring is the best thing I think.

You are able to complete the program at this school and sit for boards as long as the school is approved by the BON, as previous posters have stated. However, if you have plans to continue your education, I would strongly suggest a school with an accreditation.

I hope it all works out for you.... best of luck!

You should also check with any federal loans you may have taken, because those could be forgiven in this situation!

Not for lost accreditation only if the program is forced to close by the state, BoN, or federal government
