Greetings,
I am contemplating starting LVN school. One of my primary areas of interest is Psychiatry, and I'm curious to know if there are any opportunities for LVN's on Psych units or if you pretty much have to be an RN?
Any responses would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I completed a California LVN program 2 months ago and one of my classmates, another new-grad LVN, has a job lined up as a psych nurse at the West Los Angeles V.A. Hospital. I think V.A. hospitals will present good opportunities for LVN psych nursing because of the many Vietnam-era veterans who need psychiatric treatment for post-traumatic stress syndrome, clinical depression, and other various mental illnesses.
Good luck to you.

I'm curious to know where you graduated from in California. Was it possibly L.A.Trade and Technical College? That's where I am considering attending. If so, I have a few more questions for you!

Instead, I spent $20,000 on attending Casa Loma College in Van Nuys.
