Published

Hi I am currently on the waiting list for the Lvn program at Nctc, Gainsville,Tx. We have orientation on Thurs. Dec. 4th, and I have been told that almost everyone on the waiting list usually gets into the program. So I am very excited to go to oreintation to see if I get accepted. Has anyone ever been in the Lvn program at NCTC? What can I expect?

I got in the lvn class for Jan 2009 :)

CONGRATS! Today at my orientation they accepted 15. Which is great because they where only going to accept 12. So 3 of the wait listers got in. I'm so excited for all the students that got accepted!

I just got accepted also! I'm so excited to start school... there's something I never thought I would say. I'm glad I'm not the only one looking at nursing sites already!

:yeah:

that is awsome...we will be classmates.Do you live close to the school? I live in Pottsboro.

Congratulations you guys!! I live Sherman, and let me just say that the drive gets real old after a while especially to Denton or Decatur for clinicals, but it's worth it! Are they making you buy the khaki scrubs?? At first it seems silly, but atleast you don't have to worry about what to wear.

The online won't wear the khaki scrubs...only the white...which are clear. I'm buying white leggings so everyone in my class and at my clinicals won't see my underwear.

Well if anybody would like my scrubs let me know. I was thinking of having a ceremonial bonfire of the scrubs, but if you guys would like to buy them just let me know. They're Small Top and Medium bottoms... A lot of people bought Spanx to wear under their whites. It helped to not see the underwear line.

Nice thought about the bonfire...thanks for the spanx idea.

Where to you get spanx?

Soma at Stonebriar Mall. Also, Target has a brand called Assets. They have the full leg or the boxer brief style. Ooohh, and the classroom that you're going to be in is ridiculously cold in the winter. I suggest buying some thermal underwear, like cuddle duds or something. I froze most of the spring semester. I'm so excited for you guys!! Make sure to have fun. There will be times when you're thinking What the Crap!!, but it will all be fine. If you need any help with anything, please let me know!! I learn best by teaching, and I know I've still got a lot to learn even though I graduate next week!

cjshelton56.....do you get your IV cert will attending classes....or do you have to take a IV cert class?

We did not get IV cert. That is your responsibility after you graduate. Most employers will provide you with the opportunity to become certified.
