I'm having a very hard time finding a LVN job. I've been on so many interviews for the past 3 months and still no luck. After I passed my test and got my license, I thought it would be easy for me to get a job as a nurse. Please help!!

Have you tried the nursing homes? If a new grad LVn can't get hired there, we as LVN must be in a worst state then I realized.

hi
have you tried all nursing homes, dr's offices, psychiatric facilities?
if you still can't find a job..... you might want to move to ny.
hundred's of jobs here in ny..
with all the plastic surgeons out that way, i'm surprised you can't find a job in that field.
what field are you looking to get into?
are there any state places? they have good benefits

During my graduation week, several employers came to the school to recruit the new grads. Northeast Valley Health Center offered $15 hourly, Kaiser Hospital offered $17 hourly, Olive View Medical Center offered a measly salary of $2550 monthly, and so forth. Only the SNFs (skilled nursing facilities) were paying decent money.
So wonder...this is the reason I moved far away from Los Angeles County. I attended an LVN program in Los Angeles County nearly 2 years ago. Southern California has an excessive number of private LVN programs that churn out new LVN grads every three months, so the local job market tends to become flooded with new nurses seeking employment. This increases competition for jobs, and helps to lower the pay rates in an area that has a high cost of living.During my graduation week, several employers came to the school to recruit the new grads. It is similar to that in northern, CA. Although, LVN's can't get hired at the hospitals here. You have a couple old-school LVN that still work at the hospitals but they are being grandfathered out and when they retire it it will be zero LVN.
We have about 2 private LVN schools, 1 adult ed program, and a handful of jr. colleges that offer the LVN program in this area. The area does seem saturated with new grads, but there is always LTC jobs avalible. In fact, the really bad LTC facilities run help wanted ads every day. What I have seen A LOT around here is facility hopping. I noticed it way back when I started as a CNA. A LVN will work at a facility for a year, maybe 2, then move to another. ..repeat 8 - 10 x etc. It was probably burn-out, lack of support , or to much bs to deal with that lead to this.

It's sooooo hard to look for a job here in southern california. I got my license last august and got all my CPR & IV Certificates. I gave out 30+ resumes to different hospitals/facilities and still NOTHING. Is it because i dont have at least 1 year or six months experience??? Everytime i go to an interview they ask if i have any experience and i always tell them i dont have any. But i always tell them that i'll work hard if they give me a chance and i really really want to work as an LVN. And they always tell me that they will call me if they have an opening either for a part time or someone who can work on a weekend. Is that good enough? I guess it's good enough for me so i could at least an experience. But i really really want to work as a full time LVN.

Hi nanaLVN, I know exactly what you are going through. Did you try to apply at any home health agencies, most of them are hiring. Hope you'll find a job soon. Good luck:nuke:
