I met with the rep today and signed on. For me it seems to be the easiest way and since I am in California, our board of nursing won't recognize Excelsior. So I am going LVN to BSN through Indiana State in conjunction with Sonoma state. It sounds really good and I already got to start my first class. Anyone have experience with this, the LVN to BSN?? For me I need something like this. I have 3 kids and it would be hard for me to go back to the classroom. 2 of my friends also just signed on.
I just graduated last September 28th and started working on the floor in acute care December 31st. I definitely want to move on and BSN IS my goal!

Going back to get my BSN soon too & I'm in CA. I need 3 more gen. ed classes I'll take @ the City College level. Will apply for admission to BSN program next year. Thought about doing it online but I need to see, hear, do what I'm learning. Plus I do better interacting. In other words I'm not that disciplined to do online.
I heard that one of the local community colleges has an articulation agreement with Indiana State.
Anyway, stick with it. You can do it!!!

Wondering, if I can test out all my prerequistes before applying to ISU.
Do you have to be register to Excelsior to test out the prereq.?
And if not, how can I get my test score to transfer to ISU, I lived in
California and ISU/Sonoma State University is one of the colleges that
does LVN to BSN program. Any information, will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you:w00t:

How did you manage to get enrolled at Excelsior and live in California? I've heard it through the grapevine that you wont be able to take the state board exam if Excelsior is on your transcript.....Unless you were grandfathered in or unless California finally accepted Excelsior recently...
Thank you for your responses.
I have decided to signed up with the publishing company College Network /Indiana State via Sonoma State. It more of a convenience due to work and home.
Anyone taken their first exam thru them. Will greatly appreciate
the response.
Thank you

Hey, I live in North ca, and am working on my gen ed courses. Should be done by fall, then on to pahse 2 via college network. I was wondering where you're at, and if you know of where to get the (CSM's) customized study materials second hand for the indianna state courses. (New 650 from college network!!!ugh!) I have 5 kids, so saving a little $ is great.

Hey guys........ this ISU TCN thing seems to be good. I know that you don't have to go thru the college network, but I went through my college algebra module in about 3 weeks as oppsed to 4 months at a community college. 1 more class to go then I apply at ISU. The aother great thing is the ISU will that all the classes that I took at the community college about 50 units worth opf classess. A bachelors degree is about 160 or so uunits........so about half way there!!!

Hi! can someone please tell me what the cost of the college network lvn to bsn program is and how long the program is.. im considering that vs. getting my rn then going to a university...:monkeydance:
a lot of this depends on how many pre- classes you have done. it has been my experience that isu requires more classes than most bsn programs. the website will tell you that you can complete the program in 3 years, now what i don't know is if thats after or before your pre-classes. however, i do know the course of nursing classes must be taken in sequence and they are only offered in certain semesters. my opinion is if you have to do a online program this is ok, but if you could attend a regular on-campus university then do that cause most of those programs are 4 semesters instead of 6 that isu requires. it sounds like a good program it's just longer than most lvn to bsn programs.
